Catherine (Sassy) Molyneux

Sassy Molyneux is an interdisciplinary researcher, with a background in human geography, behavioural research and organisational studies. She moved back to UK from Kenya in 2020 after 27 years of working for the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme (KWTRP), and remains a member of the Health Systems and Research Ethics Department in KWTRP. Sassy's main research interests span health policy and systems research (governance, finance, responsiveness to patient and public priorities and needs, and treatment-seeking), implementation research and empirical ethics. Current foci include: Vulnerability, agency and moral distress in health care provision and research conduct Stakeholder engagement, justice and accountability in health/research systems Patient experience and continuity of care in health delivery Health system resilience and responsiveness in the face of chronic stress and periodic shocks Sassy contributes to strategic development of social science and health systems research across the Nuffield Department of Medicine and in KWTRP, and serves on a number of International Advisory Groups including for Health Systems Global, WHO/TDR, and SARETI. Current research projects: Wellcome Trust funded realist reviews of community engagement and participatory research Gates Funded research aimed at developing interventions to strengthen continuity of care post discharge from hospitals Science For Africa Funded Capacity Strengthening Grant Wellcome Trust funded Decolonisation Exchange NIHR funded Health Policy and Systems Research project aimed at strengthening quality of care for newborns (HIGH-Q). Christl Donnelly

My research programme brings together and develops statistical and biomathematical methods to analyse epidemiological patterns of infectious diseases. I have studied a variety of diseases, with a particular interest in outbreaks. I also have interests in ecology, conservation and animal welfare.

Christophe Fraser

I am a Senior Group Leader in Pathogen Dynamics at the Big Data Institute, and Professor in the Nuffield Department of Medicine. I am interested in studying the population dynamics and epidemiology of pathogens, and translating this knowledge to public health. The primary tools used in my group are mathematical modelling and pathogen genomics. Trained in theoretical particle physics, I converted to mathematical biology after my PhD in 1998. I was Royal Society URF and then Professor in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at Imperial College before joining the BDI at Oxford in 2016.

Claire Murray

Claire joined the Ethox Centre in May 2021 as Research Projects Coordinator. Her role is focused on supporting research projects and other network activities across the Oxford-Johns Hopkins Global Infectious Disease Ethics Collaborative (GLIDE), and the wider global health bioethics programmes of the Ethox Centre and the Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities. Before joining Ethox, Claire worked as Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Manager for the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre where she established a PPI programme and developed projects to increase accessibility and inclusion. She has also worked in the field of patient information and for an international HIV information charity. She has experience in project management, communications, stakeholder engagement and fundraising, and an MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights.
