Immediate is an architecture and a set of libraries for building rich, reactive user interfaces. It can be used to render to many different targets, but the primary use case is websites. Immediate does not require communication with the rendering target to be synchronous, making it possible to write applications that run entirely on a server, despite rendering to a client (e.g a browser)...
Immediate was created to be the simplest and most productive way to build internal tools, and that use case guides many of the design decisions. However, the resulting concepts and libraries can be used for a variety of applications.
