Mr. Ahmed Ghulam Kallon is the Co mmissioner of the Right to Access Information Commission - Eastern Region. Ahmed G. Kallon was appointed by HE President Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio on 15 th. August, 2022, subject to parliamentary approval which finally took place on 18 th. October, 2022 in the well of Parliament.

Alan Benjamin - Chief Legal Officer

Alan Benjamin graduated with a Bachelor's degree of Social Sciences in Economics from the University of Sierra Leone in 2007. He later enrolled for his law degree in 2007 and graduated with LLB (Hons) in 2011 from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. He was called to the bar in 2012 and on completion of his pupilage he has practiced particularly in areas relating to Contract, Commercial Law, Land Law, Family Law and Employment Law. He has been involved in drafting wide ranging complex international contractual agreements. Alan has also dealt with a wide range of cases concerning adoption, custody and juvenile matters. Alan Benjamin also has a vast experience in defamation matters and has made representations before the Independent Media Commission's tribunal. He has a wide experience in labour matters and has also practiced in the Industrial Court of Sierra Leone and has been the focal person at Bmt Law Chambers interfacing with some of our big International Non Governmental Organizations. Alan Benjamin has been part of the team at BMT Law Chambers working and preparing pleadings and documents for Arbitration Matters to the London Court of International Arbitration. Alan Benjamin is currently serving as the Legal Counsel for the Right to Access Information Commission since October 2017.

Alhassan Sesay

I Alhassan Sesay came as an intern at the Right to Access Information Commission through the recommendation of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM). Haven gone through my three months of experience, the Commission thought it fit to retain my service as a volunteer in the capacity of Assistant Archivist at the Secretariat, one year after, the Commission relocated me to tentatively serve as Public Information Officer and Admin Assistant at the Western Regional Office. But before this time, I join the RAIC in 2019 July, till January 2022 where I became a permanent staff under the domain of Assistant Admin at the Western Regional Office. I also played a key role at the secretariat through the support of Information Communication and Technology (ICT). In addition, I was also representing the Commission in different functions, the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA), which is one of the Commission's donor partners, I served as an Assistant Project Coordinator for two years and am currently a Steering Committee Member at Open Government Partnership (OGP) platform for the Commission. I attended the Methodist Boys High School Freetown and Murialdo Secondary School Lunsar. However, I pursued my academic studies at the Freetown Teacher College (FTC) where I read the Higher Teacher's Certificate Secondary and also logged in at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), university of Sierra Leone where I holds a BSc in Public Sector Management 2019. Alhassan Sesay have worked at Statistics Sierra Leone as a contractual field staff in the capacity of a supervisor base on the Social Safety Net Survey (SSN) project and also served as a data collector. A former teacher at the Wesleyan Secondary School Freetown. I'm an effective and articulating communicator with all levels of employees, confidence in approaching challenges with an open mind. Possessing a good spirit, deadline oriented and having the ability to solve complex issues clearly and accurately.

David Patrick Kamara

David Patrick Kamara is a versatile Sierra Leonean media and communications practitioner with over ten (10) years of experience in journalism practice, and public communications. David has worked with various radio/media development projects in Sierra Leone, including the National Broadcaster, The Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation with a strong passion about human and democratic rights and social justice. Prior to him joining the Right to Access Information Commission in October 2017, he worked as a reporter, Presenter and News Anchor at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation where he played an active role in radio and television programmes production by generating interesting ideas and developing them into interesting reports and programmes that cover politics, social and economic issues. His job also involved researching contents to inform the production of various radio and TV programmes. He was one of the lead and first anchors for the SLBC's flagship breakfast news and current affairs programme, Morning Coffee, which focuses on key Human rights and Governance issues in the country. Between January 2012 and June 2014, he was Programmes Editor for Cotton Tree New (CTN) a project designed to be a model for public service broadcasting in post-conflict Sierra Leone. Mr. Kamara's job as a radio journalist involved designing and producing radio programmes that focused on the project's thematic areas--governance, accountability, elections and human rights, as well as everyday local issues such as access to services that affected people in deprived communities across the country. David also ensured the editorial and technical quality of all programmes especially during the 2012 elections, where he worked in the situation room of the Independent Radio Network-a coalition of community radio stations across the country. Mr. David Patrick Kamara during his University days did a six months internship programme with the Outreach and Public Affairs Section of the Special Court for Sierra Leone and was assigned to monitor the Charles Taylor trial from The Hague via video link and write summary scripts from the trial for a thirty minutes radio programme to be aired on different radio stations across the country. He was also tasked with editing audio clips from the trial in The Hague for use by the Section and media and participated in the court's outreach programmes across the country. Mr. David Patrick Kamara holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors (BA, Hons.) in Mass Communications, from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone (2006-2010) and was winner of the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone SWASAL best male Sports Journalist (Electronics Media) in 2011 and was part of the crew that covered the month-long ALL AFRICAN GAMES in Congo Brazzaville in 2015 for the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation.

John Kalokoh

John Kalokoh was born in Ferry ,Gbonkolenken chiefdom, Tonkolili District, NorthEast Region of Republic of Sierra Leone. Attended the Seventh Days Adventist`s Primary School Ferry (S.D.A) and Yoni Bana Secondary School Yoni Bana(YSS)where I attained my WASSCE requirement in 2005, I proceeded my tertiary education at the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology Makeni Campus, where I attained Bachelor in Education degree(B.ED) in Linguistics/Literature in 2017. I came as a volunteer at the Right to Access Information Commission since 2019 and I had been worked in different capacities in the Northern region Office Makeni, representing the commission on Radio talk show ,meetings and other assigned duties by the commissioner, till January 2022 I became permanent staff as Public Information Officer at the Northern Region. I worked for the Ministry of Education on schools survey as Enumerator officer in 2019,I was charged with the responsibility to take details about the schools and pupils with (GPS) operation.

Margarette B.Bendu is the Administrative and Human Resources Manager, Right to Access Information Commission stationed at the National Secretariat. She is a Human Resource Expert, an Educationist, a Children and Women Advocate and campaigner with skills in Development and Research. Worked in several Academic Institutions as well as and non - Academic Institutions with a vast knowledge and expertise in Human Resources Management, including administrative Duties.

Mariama Shaw

Mariama Shaw is the Assistant Accountant, Right to Access Information Commission, Sierra Leone. Prior to taking up this position, she worked as the Finance and Operations Officer for Dallaco Company (2018-2020), Administrative Officer for Independent Youth Forum (2015-2017), Operations Officer for Zenith bank SL Ltd (2012-2014), and Finance Assistant for Evangelical Fellowship of Sierra Leone (2009-2012). She is an accomplished Finance and Operations specialist with over eight years of professional experience in the financial sector. She has the ability to process transactions at a very high speed with no errors. Because of her skills, she can produce productive and long-lasting results for high-level clients. She works well with senior executives and can provide consultations to colleagues in handling financial transactions. More than her role as Assistant Accountant, she is also effective at persuading and influencing high-ranking individuals. Her opinions are highly valued, and people trust and respect her judgments. She earned a certificate in business finance, a diploma in financial services, and a degree in financial services in 2007, 2009, and 2011 respectively at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone. Through her studies, she developed a passionate interest in finance, operations, and administration. At RAIC, she managed the finances of the commission while working with other government agencies and departments to coordinate the activities of the commission. Millicent Brima

Millicent Brima (Mrs.) is a Sierra Leonean by Nationality. She is a graduate with Master of Arts in Descriptive and Applied Linguistics and Bachelor of Arts Linguistics (Education) both from Njala University. She is an educationist who has spent most of her working years as a teacher in the Centenary United Methodist Secondary School Bo. She worked with the RAIC as volunteer from 2019 to 2021. She was recruited as permanent staff in 2022. In addition to her responsibilities as Public Information Officer, she also serves in other capacities such as Admin Assistance, IT Officer and other duties assigned by the Commissioner. She also embarked on some contract works which are: 2020: Recruited by Le Wi Lan/ Teaching Service Commission (TSC) Sierra Leone as facilitator for the popularization of the 2019 Teacher Code of Conduct in the country. 2018-2022: Recruited by Le Wi Lan/ Teaching Service Commission as facilitator for the Teacher Professional Development (TPD) trainings for English and Mathematics teachers in Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS) in the country.

Abu Bakarr Kargbo was born in Matotoka, Tane Chiefdom, Tonkolili District, North-East Region of the Republic of Sierra Leone in 1974. Attended the Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood(SLMB) Primary School Matotoka and the Magburaka Secondary School for boys Magburaka (MSSB) where I attained my ordinary Level in 2002, I proceeded my tertiary education to the Port Loko Teachers College where I gained my Teacher's certificate and later gained admission in the same institution for my higher Teacher's Certificate. After few years, I was offered an admission at the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology Makeni University College to pursue a Bachelor in Education degree (B.Ed) in Linguistic/ Literature. I worked as a teacher at the SLMB Matotoka Starting from a pupil teacher to the rank of Head Teacher, a volunteer for the National Electoral Commission(NEC), Enumerator for Statistics Sierra Leone, Community First Aider for the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society, Community Animator for the Community Animation Development Organization(CADO).

Pastor Mohamed Sesay is the Western Area Commissioner of the Right to Access Information Commission. He served in previous governments as a member of parliament. He is an ordained pastor and founder of Faith Community Christian Fellowship Church. Pastor Mohamed Sesay has been a journalist for over fifteen years and edited the ‘Peep Magazine' and the ‘Comment Newspaper'.He won Independent Media Commission Human Rights Award for Best Human Right Report in Sierra Leone for 2009. He looks forward to working very harmoniously with the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Seaga Shaw, Commissioners and all the other staff members of the Right to Access Information Commission
