REBUNDANCE - Key Persons
Alex is a consultant in social and environmental sustainability with a focus on the food sector and community empowerment. He was previously a London-based financial journalist for the Wall Street Journal and NY-based investment banker at VB&P. His purpose in life is to help people and communities build resilience together and he acts in full generosity and with care.
Ben created REBUNDANCE and is the Managing Director. Creative at heart, he is passionate about giving expression to human possibility, always seeking to explore drivers of transformation. He leads the "Ground" team at REBUNDANCE and designs contents. He is also passionate about music and how it expresses the spirit of our time - his music project is currently the playlist Comfortably Uncomfortable.
Catarina Gomes works with media, innovation and journalism. In the past 10 years she has been around the world developing projects in human rights, sexual rights, and environment in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and China. The common thread is always innovation, either technological - digital, virtual reality or augmented reality-, or theme based disruption. Amongst many projects, she was part of the founding team of the global and multi-awarded platform Love Matters, as well as part of NowHereMedia, an immersive human rights documentary production house based in Berlin. She's currently based in Lisbon and working with MANICÓMIO, an art studio with artists who have or have had experienced mental health issues. She's also a freelancer, still developing media and journalism projects, and facilitating innovation processes in Rebundance. Catarina holds a double-degree masters by the University of Aarhus, Denmark, and the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Coordinating all the administrative dimensions of REBUNDANCE, Isabel is dedicated to solving every hurdle, keeping utterly calm even when confronted with chaos, taking challenges on, one at the time, dissipating drama, somehow always succeeding in making everyone feel cared for and at home. She is a master of hospitality, and makes logistics run seamlessly.
Livia curates the REBUNDANCE creative leadership programs and MOSAIC Salon Gatherings and is deeply committed to contributing to a totally good future, where every living being is able to live a life with dignity.
For 25 years Livia exerced as an architect and real estate developer in Portugal, co-creating the mediterranean climate region's sustainable construction flagship buildings, proving that the built environment can substantially contribute to planet regeneration. This work led to various contributions to European sustainability policies and later to founding and directing Lisbon's Municipal Energy and Environment Agency and to taking an active role in local politics in Lisbon.
With a strong belief that in a world of visual overload, it is no longer justifiable for design to just "look pretty", Raluca works towards integrating authenticity, emotion, sustainability and social responsibility into all of her designs, while also keeping them easy to navigate and pleasing to the eye. Rita works in social intervention for over 35 years. Now president of CARITAS Portuguesa, the intervention arm of the Catholic Church, she has been on the board of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (largest Portuguese charity) for 5 years and on the staff of the Minister Social Security for 4 years.
She is intrinsically motivated to embrace deep rooted and complex social challenges, always reaching well beyond perceived boundaries to find solutions, investing in fertile ground for cross societal synergy and innovation.
