Cindy Bergvall

Cindy teaches Financial Management for Nonprofit Organizations. Her goal is to equip students with practical tools to advance the sustainability of nonprofit organizations. She also seeks to facilitate students in processing the financial management considerations through a biblical lens. Cindy draws from over 30 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations through the CPA firm Bee, Bergvall & Company and the firm's Catalyst Center for Nonprofit Management. The firm provides tax and accounting services and the Catalyst Center focuses on strategic consulting and equipping nonprofit leaders and Board Members. Cindy enjoys partnering the financial analysis skills of the CPA firm with the strategic objectives of the organizations. She is the board chair of CB Cares Educational Foundation, a member of the C12 Group (a monthly meeting of Christian CEOs), and a former board member of the First Savings Charitable Foundation. She is also active with the PICPA Committees on State and Local Government and Fiscal Responsibility. Previously, she served on the boards of Valley Christian School (treasurer and development committee chair), as treasurer of the Warrington Community Business Alliance and the Southeastern PA Chapter of the Government Finance Officers Association.

David Marks

Dr. Marks has been an Adjunct Professor at Cairn since 2000. For years he taught master's level Homiletics and Advanced Homiletics. Currently, Dave serves in the School of Business where he teaches Communication Skills for Leaders, Team Dynamics, and Creating and Leading Strategic Organizations. In addition to serving on our adjunct faculty, Dr. Marks is a full-time lead consultant at The Center, a premiere consulting firm serving faith based organizations.

Dr. Jim J. Adams

Dr. Jim J. Adams' professional experience in faith-based education spans over 43 years serving in local church education, the Christian school setting, and higher education. Adams has taught in the areas of curriculum development, administration, and research methods. His work experience includes serving as a superintendent of schools and university president in California. He previously led a large leadership graduate program internationally, and he is now semi-retired as president emeritus for Life Pacific University, a fellow CCCU institution to Cairn where he teaches in the graduate education program. Dr. John Furrow

Dr. John Furrow has been in education since 1987, including over 25 years in administration. In addition to serving in a variety of teaching and administration roles in K-12 Christian schools, he has also been a guest speaker at numerous ACSI events and a team leader for ACSI accreditation visits. Currently, he is a member of the ACSI Southeast Accreditation Commission. His wife, Beverley '86, is an NILD Educational Therapist. Together, they have three children: Lindsay, Caleb, and Joshua.

Dr. Lisa Houseworth

Dr. Lisa Houseworth teaches applied behavior analysis courses at the University. Dr. Houseworth has worked with children with special needs using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior since 2001. In 2005, she graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education, and then continued her education by graduating from the University of Dayton Law School in May 2010. She has worked with individuals ranging in age from two-years-old through young adults. She has been with Key Behavior Services since January 2015.

Dr. Todd J. Williams - President

Dr. Todd J. Williams is president of Cairn University. Prior to his appointment as president of Cairn University in 2008, Dr. Williams served as senior vice president and provost for the University. From 2001 until 2005 he served as headmaster and CEO of Trinity Christian School of Fairfax. While in northern Virginia, he also served as visiting lecturer for the Witherspoon Fellowship in Washington D.C. From 1999-2001 Dr. Williams served as vice president and academic dean for undergraduate education at Cairn, where he began his educational career as a faculty member teaching social sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences. He holds a BS in Bible degree from Cairn University and a MEd and a PhD from Temple University in Philadelphia. He is a regular contributor to online and print publications and serves as a visiting lecturer and speaker on cultural and professional issues. He is the chairman of the Board of Governors of The John Jay Institute in Pennsylvania and a member of the Board of Directors of Gospel Volunteers Inc. Dr. Williams and his wife, Dawn, have two grown children, Connor and Caitlin. Cairn University President, Dr. Todd J. Williams, is available for speaking engagements throughout the year. In addition to teaching, Professor Fanus serves as the Associate Director of Athletics. He is also the faculty advisor for Cairn Force (Cairn's Ultimate Disc club) & HPEC (Cairn's Future Professionals in Health and Physical Education club). He has also served as advisor for the Health and Physical Education Program. Prior to teaching at Cairn, Professor Fanus worked for 9 years as a health and physical education teacher at every level K-12, including 6 years of teaching adaptive physical education and physical education for autistic and emotional support classes. He has also coached tennis, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse for middle and high schoolers. Professor Gregg Fanus teaches courses in health, physical education, and teaching methods and pedagogy.

John Mesher

Mr. Mesher was a corporate lawyer for over 30 years. He retired in 2009 as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Saint-Gobain Corporation, a $7 billion company with 19,000 employees at over 350 locations in the US and Canada, where he was responsible for the legal affairs, government relations, business ethics, and corporate governance of Saint-Gobain Corporation. He was also the company's chief compliance officer. John Mesher has served on the Board of Directors of Good Works, Inc., a nonprofit home repair agency for low-income residents in Chester County, PA. He was also a Quality Control Examiner for the IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and has been a panel member for various Philadelphia Bar Association programs, as well as the Argyle Executive Forum in New York City. He was the featured in-house counsel in the May 2006 edition of the National Law Journal.

Dr. Severns serves as Coordinator for International Student Teaching. She has served as a missionary with SEND International since 1977. For 25 years, she lived in the Philippines, serving at Faith Academy-a large school for missionary children-first as a teacher, then as elementary principal. Since returning to the U.S. in 2003, she has served full-time as coordinator of SEND's Third Culture Kid (TCK) Education department.

Mark Gaspar

Mark Gaspar's 38-year business and government relations career spanned development, production, and marketing of naval, airborne, and land-based law enforcement and military systems in the United States and around the world. In his final assignment as Director, Maritime Systems in Lockheed Martin's Washington Operations, Mark conducted strategic planning, customer relations, and legislative affairs for US Navy and Coast Guard programs as a registered lobbyist. He has provided domain expertise support to Members of the US Administration and Congress as well as the Congressional Research Service, and several Washington, DC based think tanks. Throughout his career Mark conducted business in over 18 countries and has extensive experience with government operations including elected and career service officials in the United States and internationally. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Mark established a business unit for design, development, and marketing of advanced homeland security systems worldwide. With offices in Spain, Norway, and Australia, he managed multiple international contracts as well as business development and customer relations. Previously, his experience in production operations, acquisition management, and negotiations enabled him to lead a team that redesigned the acquisition process and trained personnel for a multi-site, $6 billion per year subcontract management system. Mark's career began in refractory metallurgy and then transitioned to project management for rocket propulsion, high-energy laser, and satellite electronics systems as well as manufacturing engineering and the implementation of factory operations management systems. In addition to teaching at Cairn, Mark teaches for The Ohio State University John Glenn College of Public Affairs. He began teaching at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs and has also taught at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. His courses include criminal justice, politics, policy analysis, professional writing, and economics, as well as transnational and homeland security, counterterrorism, project and operations management, cybersecurity, negotiations, international business, and business strategy development.

Mr. Danny Qian

Mr. Danny Qian started his career in education after his time in the United States Marine Corps, immediately after he completed a tour of duty in Iraq, during Operation Iraqi Freedom III. He received his master's degree in education after he returned to the US from Iraq. His career in education began in California, where he taught secondary students as an education specialist in training. He then received his education specialist credential and taught in the Boston area at a non-public school with students who displayed dangerous behaviors toward themselves and/or others. It was at that school that Mr. Qian fell in love with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and began working with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and psychologists in treating the students and adults at that school. Shortly after, Danny obtained his BCBA certification and returned to California to work with adults and children with intense socially maladaptive behaviors and to help young children with autism gain skills and language repertoires needed to overcome their skills deficit(s). Mr. Qian has over 15 years of experience in the field of education and 14 years in the field of special education. He is constantly pondering and meditating on the overlap of his discipline (ABA) and his faith in the risen Christ and how the two worldviews harmonize well in his perspective.

Mrs. Carolena Moro

Mrs. Carolena Moro has worked in applied settings supporting children and adults with challenging behavior and skill acquisition for the past decade. For most of that time, she has worked in public school settings as a behavioral supervisor/consultant, writing IEP goals and individualized behavior plans and conducting staff training at various levels and topics. Currently, she consults to an autism-specific program at a large charter school network in urban Boston and a group home for young adults with intellectual disabilities in Laguna Beach, California. Mrs. Moro has been married for 10 years and is mother to three little girls.

Mrs. Catherine Wayman

Starting her educational journey at Cairn (then PBU), Mrs. Wayman graduated with degrees in social work and Bible. After graduating from Temple University with her MSW, she passed her LSW and BCBA exams within the same 18 months. Mrs. Wayman started her professional career as a Therapeutic Support Staff for New Story in 2007, working with children diagnosed with Autism and Emotional Disturbances. She held several additional positions within the organization in community-based programs as well as the special education schools. In 2013 she transitioned to her current position of Director of Learning and Quality for Salisbury Management Inc.. In this position, she oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical quality assurance activities for special education schools, community-based, and residential behavioral health programs. She also leads the design, development, and delivery of appropriate learning and other performance enhancement solutions driven by needs assessments. She has been married to Luke Wayman since 2008.

Mrs. Ward is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She has experience working as the Behavior Consultant for University Pediatricians Autism Center, as an adjunct professor at Wayne County Community College, and as a Behavior Consultant for Autism Home Support Services. She works primarily with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder by providing ABA services in the home setting. She is also a member of a Peer Review Committee that reviews the most challenging cases and provides support to other consultants in the company. Mrs. Ward is married with three children.

Prof. Marika Ravin

Prof. Marika Ravin teaches Linguistics and Language Learning, English Grammar and Pronunciation, and Foundations of Teaching Language Learners at Cairn. She has been teaching English Language Learners in various capacities since 2001. She has taught students from kindergarten to graduate school. In recent years, she has expanded her focus to teaching TESOL to those interested in working with ELLs. One of her career goals is to establish a thriving ESL/EFL program. Marika has lived on three different continents and enjoys meeting people from different cultures and cultural backgrounds.
