RUFUS PORTER MUSEUM - Key Persons
Karla has been the Executive Director of the Rufus Porter Museum since November 2018. Originally from Connecticut, she moved to Maine after attending college in Boston to continue her education and gain more experience in the museum field. Karla has had the privilege of working for a variety of grass-roots non-profit organizations in Maine including the Old York Historical Society, Victoria Mansion, the Maine People's Alliance, Maine Preservation, Museum L-A, and the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society.

Madeleine Lane-Duigan has been the Community Engagement Coordinator of the Rufus Porter Museum since February 2022. She worked as a science teacher for most of her career, specializing in ecology and Sense of Place education, with experience in alternative and special education. Madeleine lives with her family on a small homestead, raising animals, growing gardens, and making maple syrup every spring. She is a life-long learner, avid reader, interested in food preservation, and knitting and other crafts.
