Ginell Butler

Ginell Butler is the former Lead Senior Project Manager of AARP, the nation's largest association for people over fifty. She managed large to mid-size portfolios and projects for all AARP business and IT projects. Ms. Butler led the $6 million revitalization and redevelopment initiative of AARP's mail operation center and the $350,000 project and thirty team members for the purchase of a new disk mainframe, which achieved revenue growth for the membership initiative resulting in 10,000-15,000 new member accounts and increased gross revenue up to $300,000. A respected departmental lead, during her AARP tenure, Ms. Butler became the 2012 recipient of the AARP IT Team Award and the 2010 recipient of the IT Excellence Award. Ms. Butler has worked in the private and non-profit sectors for 20+ years. Ms. Butler addresses everyday issues facing the aging population including health, housing, hunger, advocacy, and service challenges. Ms. Butler's Master of Aging Services Management (MASM) degree from USC helped build the solid foundation needed for the caliber of expertise she brings to Senior Moments, Inc as its subject matter expert in Gerontology. Ms. Butler's goal as the Executive Director of Senior Moments, Inc. is to create and deliver premium service to aging communities. Her innovation in domestic planning and cultivation of sustainable resources for seniors with a wide range of needs that range from social services to guidance through challenging healthcare systems. This level of service is key for elders who live alone, need domestic help, and/or guidance through the healthcare journey. Ms. Butler is inspired by a void she saw in services and care for her extended family of elders grappling with numerous chronic diseases, such as Dementia and Alzheimer's, as well as other illnesses impacting other quality of life including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, chronic stress, and anxiety. Ginell has a passion for finding solutions to chronic diseases and aging in the African American community. She also brings great administrative experience. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha National Sorority, USC, CSUDH and UCI Black Alumni Associations, and various organizations for aging, such as the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and Gerontological Society of America, AARP, Alzheimer's Associations, and the local Senior Centers across the greater Los Angeles area. She is active in her local neighborhood association and served as president of those associations for several years. Ms. Butler has written numerous podcasts/blogs on all issues of aging in the 21st century, she may be reached through several media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. She enjoys history and culturally based works such as film and live theatre. She currently resides in Southern California and travels the world collecting data on diverse cultural practices of Gerontology.
