Dr. Jeff Saul

Dr. Jeff Saul is a physics education researcher specializing in implementation and evaluation of activity-based learning in STEM courses in lecture, discussion, and laboratory sections as well as integrated lecture/laboratory studio classes such as SCALE-UP, Workshop Physics, and Modeling Instruction. This includes developing, implementing, and evaluating a wide variety of activity-based teaching methods and reform curricula in introductory physics and astronomy courses. He has over 20 years of experience teaching introductory physics and astronomy in two-year colleges and universities. He was a pioneer in assessing students' cognitive beliefs in introductory physics courses as co-developer of the Maryland Physics Expectation Survey (MPEX) and as the original project post-doc for the Student Centered Active Learning Environment for Upside-down Pedagogies (SCALE-UP) project developing classroom designs, course management techniques, and curriculum development for integrated lecture/laboratory studio classes with minimal lecturing. He is currently a lead consultant for Tiliadal STEM Education Solutions. Dr. Saul received his BS degree from the University of California, Irvine and his M.S. and Ph.D. in physics from the University of Maryland where he specialized in Physics Education Research. He teaches and organizes active-learning workshops for K-12 teachers and undergraduate faculty.

Dr. Luanna Gomez

UDr. Luanna Gomez is a physics education researcher with 20 years' experience with active-learning for introductory classes in physics including classes for engineering students and teacher preparation. Her research focus is on engineering students understanding of introductory physics. She has been on the Physics faculty at Arizona State University and the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Buffalo. She is currently a staff consultant with Tiliadal Education Solutions. Dr. Gomez received her B.S degree from the University of New Mexico and her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Washington in 2001 where she specialized in Physics Education Research. She has taught numerous courses in teacher preparation programs using research-based curricula and teaching assessments such as Modeling in Mechanics and Physics by Inquiry, and the Reformed Teaching Observation Protocol (RTOP). Additionally, Dr. Gomez has contributed to workshops and courses given to inform faculty and graduate students how to teach physics more effectively using research-based curricula and pedagogy.

Dr. Rebecca Lindell - Founder

Dr. Rebecca Lindell is an interdisciplinary-based STEM Education Researcher specializing in Physics and Astronomy Education Research. With over 20 years experience in the field, she specializes in curriculum development, education research design & methods, and assessment & evaluation. Rebecca is an award-winning curriculum developer and has received national recognition for her redesign of her introductory astronomy course at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She has redesigned numerous physics courses at every level. She founded Tiliadal STEM Education Solutions in 2014 to allow her to continue to contribute to the field of Physics and Astronomy Education Research. Rebecca received her BS in Physics from Purdue University and her MS and PhD in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where she specialized in Physics and Astronomy Education Research.
