Co-founder and Managing Director of SPS, Dr. Johnson has been a psychologist for more than 25 years. She specializes in a broad range of addictions and mental health issues, and she counsels individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages. She is also one of the few psychologists in New Jersey who is an Advanced Certified Equine Psychotherapist, harnessing horses-her passion-to help her clients heal and grow. Intensely driven to help others on their journeys, Dr. Johnson combines empathy, creativity, and a playful sense of humor. She gives on-site trainings to schools and community organizations in her areas of expertise.
Founding Director of Summit Psychological Services (SPS), Dr. Kahn has been a practicing psychologist for more than 30 years. Passionate about improving the psychological health of individuals and the community, he has created pioneering treatment programs, including one of the country's first private partial hospitalization programs and a longstanding group home for people with psychiatric disorders. He has directed or counseled at psychotherapy programs in schools, community mental health centers, hospital-based day treatment programs, and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs. Dr. Kahn has deep expertise in substance abuse, relapse prevention, and working with 12-step programs. He has researched and published on the relationship between substance abuse and mood and anxiety disorders, and on the components of therapeutic day treatment programs. He also provides clinical supervision for Yeshiva University's doctoral program in clinical psychology.
Dr. Chamberlain-Gordon is a Post-Doctoral Fellow working under the supervision of the Managing Director, Dr. Alison Johnson. She is experienced in incorporating her many years of experience as an educator and school administrator into her clinical practice in psychology. Dr. Chamberlain-Gordon has training in psychological/neuropsychological testing, as well as working with diverse groups of K-12 children, college age youths, young adults, adults, and older adults in a variety of settings. Dr. Chamberlain-Gordon has also conducted psychotherapy with individuals, families, and couples, and psychoeducational practices with groups. Services include substance abuse treatment, religious and community counseling and therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Chamberlain-Gordon utilizes several therapeutic strategies in her practice, some of which include client-centered and existential-humanistic therapy with evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Motivational interviewing, and Structural Family Therapy
Dr. Gondo is a Post-Doctoral Fellow working under the supervision of the Managing Director,
Dr. Donovan is a Post-Doctoral Fellow working under the supervision of the Managing Director, Dr. Alison Johnson. He is able to draw on his 20+ years as an educator and school administrator, along with his knowledge in clinical psychology to bring a unique background and perspective to the practice. He has extensive training in working with children and adolescents. He also works with adults, couples, families and groups.
