Our museum was founded by Billie Chandler back in 1974; however, the story begins roughly 20 years before, with Ms. Chandler's first trips to East Asia. Ms. Chandler went to both the Philippines and Japan (with visits to other places and nations) while working on the American military bases post World War 2. Her role there was to teach Western history to the children living there with service members stationed abroad.
