Welcome to the Ohio Center for Deafblind Education's professional learning series This Is Communication! This online learning series includes text-based learning modules with embedded media and resources, as well as learning and assessment activities... The modules in this series promote individual professional learning about communication in an online format. They are intended for independent use. Each module should take no more than 30 minutes to complete. In this series, the modules focus on differentiating communication and language, strategies for identifying communicative forms and intents; teaching strategies to increase communication; leveraging preferences and motivation; hearing/vision/tactile/motor considerations; team collaboration/problem solving/service delivery; assessment tools, IEP targets and data management; choosing and using AAC tasks and tools; and connecting communication, and language development to literacy.
