It all began in 2012. We, the local rotary club, wanted a fun way to raise money for our causes while having fun and providing a great time for others. We came up with a bicycle tour over one of the most scenic roads in Arkansas, which just happens to be in our backyard. Planning and executing WAM is a team effort that takes the entire club and many community partners, but there are a few who are leading the charge... We provide coats, hats, gloves, and socks to any man, woman, and child in Polk County in need of being warmed up. We often host an Open Closet day where the community can come and select a coat of their choice. We also work with community services, schools and day cares in the area to provide coats to individuals who seem to be without warm clothing... As a club, we have made the focused decision to focus much of our time and funding on our local community.
