Hot mix asphalt has many names such as hot mix, asphalt concrete, asphalt or blacktop. It is a combination of stone, sand or gravel bound together by asphalt cement, a strong weather and chemical resistant binding material... Crack filling and crack sealing are used interchangeably but they have subtle differences. Crack filling is the injection of asphalt emulsion into cracks while crack sealing is a rubberized coating to prevent water intrusion.
