Dr. Daniel Cachia

Dr. Daniel Cachia graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2020 and a Master in Advocacy in 2021. Subsequently, Dr. Cachia obtained his warrant to practice advocacy in the courts of Justice in 2022. His dissertation entitled "The Notion of Un-Appealability from Decisions Concerning Article 402 Companies Act: Time to Consider a Change?" focused on the principle of the lack to the right of appeal at law within the "Protection of Shareholders Against Unfair Prejudice" section of the Companies Act. Dr. Cachia has a Foundation Certificate in Trust Law and Management awarded by the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners and is appointed as a director and designated person on Zerafa.io, following MFSA approval. Dr. Cachia's areas of interest in law are primarily driven from the Financial Services field and this attests in his current line of work with the firm. Dr. Cachia is also involved in assisting clients with their day-to-day compliance issues that may arise and has extensive experience in drafting and reviewing policies, procedures and contractual agreements. Other notable areas of practice include Investment Services, Financial Institutions and Collective Investment Schemes.

Dr. Omar Zerafa

Dr. Zerafa has obtained the degree of Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta, following which he has also graduated from the University of Leicester with a Masters in European Union Law specialising in Commercial Law. Prior to establishing Zerafa Advocates, Dr. Zerafa has worked as an associate with one of the leading financial services law firms in Malta where he was also admitted to partnership, responsible for the structuring and licensing of collective investment schemes, investment vehicles, investment services licence holders including asset management companies and financial institutions. Moreover, Dr. Zerafa has extensive experience in the corporate and trusts sectors as he serves as a Director and Compliance Officer for multiple Company Service Providers and Trustee entities. Dr. Zerafa is actively involved in providing clients with corporate structuring and regulatory advice, ensuring that the specific demands of each client are met accordingly. Dr. Zerafa has a Foundation Certificate in Trust Law and Management awarded by the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners and is a member of the Chamber of Advocates, the International Bar Association, the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners, and the Financial Services Lawyers Association (UK).

Mr. Karl-Barnim Reincke

Mr. Karl-Barnim, with his bilingual background (Hungarian and German), graduated in Law from the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt Universität Greifswald in 2018, followed by his legal training in several courts and the prosecutor's office in Rostock, Germany. His professional career includes roles such as Corporate Lawyer at a leading firm in Malta as well as in Budapest, Hungary and Rostock, Germany. He excelled in optimising company structures, drafting crucial corporate documents, and providing essential legal support. Karl-Barnim's expertise extends to contract management, as demonstrated during his tenure as a Contract Manager, where he skillfully negotiated and drafted agreements. His interests spread from private international law over commercial and corporate law to the laws of virtual assets and the regulations of distributed ledger technologies. Due to his now multilingual skill set and his experience in three different jurisdictions, his analytical approach is always infused with comparative law aspects. Mr. Reincke has a Foundation Certificate in Trust Law and Management awarded by the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners.
