ACM Instruments was founded in the summer of 1985 and incorporated as Applied Corrosion Monitoring Ltd on 25th November 1985 but still trades as ACM Instruments. Using a common background of physics and electrochemistry at UMIST, John and Ray Gill (having designed electronic warfare solutions at Racal) formed Applied Corrosion Monitoring Ltd. Initial products were manual potentiostats and ZRAs generally acknowledged to be less easy to perfect than computer controlled equipment (where a trims file can hide a multitude of sins) and established our reputation in the precision end of the market... For the laboratory, we can provide single channel instruments such as Gill AC, multiple sequential instruments such as Gill 8, Gill 12 or Weld Tester. We make parallel channel instrumentation such as the Bi-Stat, Pot 16, Gal 16, GalvoGill 12, Isolated 30, Parallel 30 LPR, Zed 16 and the Anode 16.
