Aldo Monteforte - CEO, Founder

As CEO Aldo leads the sales and business development efforts and is responsible for growing The Floow into the world leading provider of analytical insights at the service of the global automotive ecosystem. In 2000, after a career in investment banking, Aldo became an entrepreneur and investor in high growth telematics companies. He conceived and founded The Floow in 2012, with the vision of making mobility safer and smarter for all. In particular, Aldo saw the potential to transform the telematics industry from the convergence of mobile technologies, large scale data mining and psychology applied to driver behaviour. Aldo is a graduate of Stanford University, Graduate School of Business, where he earned an MSc in Management (Sloan Fellows). He is a member of the Sloan Alumni Advisory Board of Stanford GSB and graduated "cum laude" from the University of Pavia's "Economia e Commercio" program in Italy. Aldo's proudest moment was when the team evidenced that Floow technology successfully condition end-users towards safer behaviour and, as a result, accidents that would have occurred, did not happen. This result synthesises hard and social sciences mastered over the years at The Floow. For Aldo, The Floow work to protect people is his ultimate reward and main source of pride.

Andrew Oliver

Andy Goldby

Andy is accountable for ensuring the telematics product delivered to insurers and fleet managers is tailored to the needs of the client. He is also responsible for making sure the scoring derived from The Floow's low-cost telematic system can be provided to motor insurers, car makers and fleet operators with actionable insights which will improve pricing and increase customer loyalty and ROI. A highly respected general insurance industry executive, Andy is a qualified actuary and spent 5 years as the Motor Underwriting and Pricing Director at Direct Line Group (the largest motor insurer in the UK), where he managed a team of 45 actuaries, statisticians and underwriters who deal with the risk and market pricing for all brands under the DLG umbrella. At DLG, he was the sponsor of various pricing projects including external data sources and telematics. Prior to that, he was the Motor Director at Groupama. Andy also has significant experience of industry issues built up over many years of active participation on ABI Motor Committee, MIB Levy Committee and various actuarial working parties, including one which won the Brian Hey prize for a Giro paper on the Winner's Curse. Since joining The Floow, Andy's two proudest moments include: 1) Uri Levine, the founder of Waze, seeking Andy out personally at the Chicago TU conference, as the leading telematics scoring expert at the conference, to gather Andy's views on telematics and scoring with the possible inclusion of this into his latest venture.

Ash Sarwar

As Senior Product Manager Ash is responsible for setting the strategic direction and roadmap for our apps and supporting hardware whilst ensuring that our products reflect the company vision of making mobility safer and smarter across the world. Ash leads product management for our telematics area; within which teams are focused on creating exquisitely designed native apps and developing software for supporting hardware. Before joining the Floow; Ash worked in the digital space for a number of UK household brands. Most recently Ash was part of a leading price comparison provider in the UK where he contributed to their optimisation strategy for flagship channels. Ash's focus on optimisation has led to extensive experience in data analytics tools , data science and particular focus on user behaviour analysis. He's a firm believer in using data to guide our understanding of user's behaviour and create product which cater those needs. In the short time he has been with the Floow, he has seen some great examples of teams coming together to help solve a problem. In particular when a client reached out for help beyond our normal areas of focus as they saw The Floow as experts in the digital space. This is down to the hardwork and the willingness to go the extra mile from all of our teams to offer help and support to clients Outside of work Ash is a tech enthusiast at heart, who has a keen interest in smart home tech. He sometimes spends his weekends solving everyday problems using his raspberry pi. When he's not tinkering with tech, he loves spending his time admiring, learning and exploring the world of cars.

Bartosz Debski

Bartosz is responsible for all our IT estate, Cloud or otherwise. Along with his team, they provide and maintain reliable and secure IT solutions for our products. Bartosz has a BS in Computer Science and Econometrics and spent 7 years working in Dialogue Communications / IT engineer / Senior / Manager, before joining The Floow in 2014. Bartosz is extremely proud of the great team of engineers he has built that he believes can ‘deliver anything'. Outside of work, Bartosz enjoys travelling and spending time with his family.

Dan Lissaman

As Client Development Director at The Floow, Dan's role is to manage strategic key client relationships throughout the EMEA region, ensuring client requirements are exceeded through professional and effective delivery. Dan collaborates with our clients to maximise their existing telematics programmes, and helps shape the strategic development of future initiatives. Before joining The Floow, Dan's career has been within the insurer and broker industry, primarily focussed on the partnerships sector. With over 20 years experience in this area, Dan has managed and established branded insurance programmes for many household brands. Dan has previously specialised in creating insurance programmes for the automotive sector, where telematics and connected data were a keen interest for both him and his clients. Dan thrives on the innovative and solutions-focussed nature of his role at The Floow and has been fortunate to work on a number of exciting projects. Dan holds the collaborative work conducted on data quality as one of his proudest moments. This work focused on identifying potential issues with data and managing them accordingly, to ensure our clients and more importantly, their customers, are never disadvantaged as a result of erroneous GPS data. Outside of work, Dan spends most of his spare time with his wife and two young children who keep him equally busy and entertained. Dan also has a passion for music and enjoys getting along to gigs, as well as playing the guitar.

Danny Maco

Danny is responsible for The Floow's management, growth and expansion throughout North and South America. Previously, Danny served as Head of Telematics and Connected Solutions at CSAA Insurance Group, where he was responsible for overall program strategy in UBI/telematics, mobile and connected home products. Before joining CSAA, Danny was a product manager at HiMEX, where he oversaw consumer experience, analytics and community and was product manager of the mobile UBI product. Danny's focus on the consumer experience evolved from his roles as general manager at University Games, where he ran the digital/mobile division and managed their eComm business, as CEO of Snapshot Media and as VP, Privacy for Adzilla, an ISP based behavioural analytics and media company. Danny also served as international CIO for the SAES Getters Group and is the co-author of the book "CIO Wisdom: Best Practices from Silicon Valley's Leading IT Experts" (Prentice Hall Professional, 2013). Outside of work, Danny enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.

David James - COO

Leading the operational growth of the company, David is accountable for the timely and quality delivery of all facets of The Floow's value proposition to our existing clients as we develop programmes, and to new clients who are working with us for the first time. David worked for GE Capital for 22 years, firstly in the underwriting business, and then for the lending business. He was responsible for the development, delivery and compliance of all insurance products and services sold across GE Capital within an intermediary based business model. In this role, David extended product sales to include all forms of life and general products, enhancing distribution beyond face-to-face sales to include telemarketing and digital media. Geographically, insurance sales now extend globally taking businesses in Asia, Australia, Europe and the US. David is extremely proud to have helped create over 100 jobs in the city of Sheffield for a range of talented people from a number of exciting and innovative backgrounds. During his spare time, David enjoys watching sport (he's a Manchester United fan!), spending time with his children and generally having fun with friends and family.

Devi Gopal

Devi leads our team of 14 Quality Assurance (QA) engineers and is responsible for ensuring all of The Floow's solutions are delivered on time and with quality embedded within them, as well as ensuring the QA strategy is successfully deployed, building in efficiencies and improved quality. Having done her Masters in Computer Science in India, Devi received an offer to work in a software company through a campus interview. That kick started her career as a software developer in India working for a US based client in the semiconductor domain for 4 years. She then moved to Germany and continued her career as a software developer for TOSHIBA for another 4 years. Devi then moved to the UK and took a career shift from development to testing. After a year in software testing, The Floow offered her an opportunity to join them as a QA engineer. Since then, Devi has worked her way through the ranks to become Head of our QA department. Devi has had many proud moments since joining The Floow, celebrating each timely delivery of client products that she has played a key role in. She is also particularly proud of receiving the ‘Going the Extra Mile' award in one of our company meetings.

Eileen Clarkson - CFO

As Finance Director, Eileen is responsible for the financial security of the business by making sure we are compliant with the relevant legislation and ensuring that the organisation is running as profitably as possible. Starting out by training in practice as an accountant, Eileen is a professional with a wealth of experience in the finance and commercial industries; she is also certified by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). After spending much of her career working in the service and retail sectors, working for brands such as Close Consumer Finance and Little Chef, Eileen has accumulated plenty of knowledge and understanding when it comes to knowing how businesses work financially and safeguarding the profitability of organisations. Eileen's proudest moment would be when The Floow were successful with the funding round and we secured ourselves £13m investment. She feels that the money has really elevated what we can do and achieve, taking us to a different level. Outside of work, Eileen likes to socialise with her family, especially her two grown up children, and she loves going on holidays; her favourite place to visit is Thailand!

Elisabetta Pizzini

As Italian Country Leader, Elisabetta is responsible for growing The Floow's business and managing established client relationships within the key region of Italy, as well as in Portugal. Elisabetta has 25 years experience in the insurance and insurtech sectors working in sales, marketing and client relations roles across the EMEA region. Before joining The Floow in 2013, Elisabetta worked for GE Capital where she was responsible for insurance P&L across 17 countries in the EMEA region, as well as Thailand and India. While there, she also designed and implemented a global strategy and managed relationships with primary insurance counterparts in EMEA countries. Prior to this, Elisabetta worked for a global life and health reinsurer as their Sales and Marketing Leader for Italy, before becoming Country Leader for the Italian market. Elisabetta is extremely proud of the trust that insurance leaders in the Italian & Portuguese markets have put in The Floow, and our capabilities, to deliver for them and their customers. Outside of work, Elisabetta likes to take care of her family and she also loves skiing.

Jamie Hay

Along with the finance team, Jamie helps deliver the financial infrastructure of the organisation, ranging from cash flow and balance sheet management, through to budgeting, planning and performance measurement and management. Jamie also helps coordinate the Floow's participation in strategic activities such as fundraising and M&A processes. Prior to joining the Floow, Jamie was the EMEA Head of Insurtech for Goldman Sachs. He joined Goldman in 2013 and before that worked in the financial institutions group at UBS. Jamie holds an MA in economics from the University of Glasgow.

Julie Sehrt

As Delivery Director, Julie manages the overall relationship with multiple clients in North America. She focuses on building and strengthening positive relationships with our clients by being their voice within The Floow. Additionally, Julie works to manage the operational processes by partnering with the client and all organizations within The Floow to improve efficiencies, transparency and delivery. Before joining The Floow, Julie held leadership roles with several Fortune 500 companies, including Sprint, Best Buy, and CenturyLink, working in areas including IOT Service Operations, Wireless Operations and IT Development. She was also a foundational employee at Zubie, a venture backed connected car data services company, where she held the position of Senior Director of Operations. Julie holds a BS in Finance from the University of Central Missouri, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. So far, Julie's proudest moment at The Floow has been the early success in improving our NPS scores for the NA region in 2019. Listening to our client feedback and taking action to address any issues, as a company and as an individual, was critical to our success. Continuing to make improvements in our relationships with our clients and to our products is exciting! Outside of The Floow, Julie enjoys travelling, by air or road trips. The more new adventures, the better. Since travel restrictions were introduced as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Julie has enjoyed working on home improvement projects and reading (mostly suspense and thrillers!)

Sam Chapman - Founder

Sam is accountable for science, data analysis, research and innovation. His focus is upon driving The Floow to develop cutting edge capabilities and new services for our clients. Sam's prior research work focused upon state of the art approaches for large-scale knowledge management and information integration in complex domains. He has managed successful technical projects in a variety of specialised domains such as high-level procurement, aerospace engineering and emergency response. Sam has published more than 38 papers in international conferences, books and journals; his publications and areas of expertise cover a broad range of technical ICT areas, including telematics, vehicular pollution, traffic management, knowledge management, multimodal systems, semantic technologies and information retrieval. Sam frequently gives high profile talks in areas relating to transport and understanding its risks and impacts. He has also acted as an advisor to various government agencies on areas including insurance, autonomous vehicles, pollution, driver behaviour and the digital industry in the North of the UK. Sam is also an appointed member of the Institute of Environmental Science, an Associate of the Institute of Air Quality Management, a member of the Northern Robotics Network as well as being elected in the company of Cutlers as the only digital cutler and he's also part of the steering committee of the Yorkshire and Humber Digital Leaders. Sam has a keen interest in applying new architectures, approaches and technology for insurance telematic solutions. He is also active in the research fields of traffic management, autonomous vehicles, smart cities, driver behaviour and vehicle emissions and he is a graduate of the University of Sheffield, where he achieved BEng, MSc (res) and a PhD in Large Scale Information Integration. There have been many great moments for Sam at The Floow including winning The Floow's first customer, Direct Line Group, whilst the company was only six months old to winning the Queen's award for Innovation when the company was only in its third year. He's also extremely proud to have created over a hundred high skilled jobs at The Floow as well as making real change with science and data now being used in the motor insurance industry to ensure people are treated more fairly.

Steven Brown

As Chief Insurance Officer, Steven's primary role is to assist insurance companies in maximising results from telematics based insurance programs. He assists in areas including optimising telematics modelling / scoring to increase pricing accuracy, insights into obtaining and retaining telematics customers, regulatory support in filing programs, business development and for some companies, helping them to begin using telematics in evaluating risk. Steven also provides general insurance leadership experience within The Floow's senior management team. Steven has over 30 years of experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry. His experiences include roles in distribution, claims, underwriting, product management, service, processing, reinsurance and pricing. Steven's experience includes countrywide accountabilities as well as very regional focused assignments. He has started insurance operations from scratch (The Auto Club Insurance Company of Florida) and returned sustained profitability to a 2 billion dollar insurance holding company (ACIA). Steven is a graduate of Iowa State University. He holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance. He holds two professional designations: Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager. Steven has also served on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Building and Home Safety (IBHS). His role at IBHS also included his position as vice chairman for the Audit and Finance committee. His proudest moment working at The Floow is that he is part of an organisation on the cutting edge of telematics and helping save lives on our roadways. Steven and his wife AnnMarie have 4 daughters, 2 labradors and 1 teenager. The entire family enjoys active outdoor pursuits and has developed a special appreciation for Northern Michigan summers.

Todd Donovan

Todd is responsible for project delivery, client development and ensuring the success of our clients, and that their goals are met. Acting as a product owner for a client's solution, Todd is responsible for defining and prioritizing feature sets, as well as deciding on content and release dates. Prior to joining The Floow, Todd was Program Manager for CSAA Insurance Group's Insurance Telematics and Connected Solutions team. He was responsible for the budget and project management of a 22 state device-based UBI program, as well as other special projects including a Connected Home pilot project, various mobile UBI pilot programs and various internal telematics engagement projects. Todd has also held several Project Management positions at CSAA, working on various technology-driven projects across various teams and disciplines. Before joining CSAA, Todd was an Insurance Consultant and Operations Manager at the California Insurance Commissioner's Liquidation office managing failed insurance companies that were domiciled in the state of California. His role was to protect California Insurance Policyholders by selling the assets of a failed insurance company to pay insurance liabilities. Todd has proud moments everyday at The Floow, but his proudest was delivering on a very complex solution on time and in scope. The solution allowed one of our clients to complete their state roll out without delay. The collaboration on the design and execution of the solution was a huge milestone for both organizations. Outside of work, Todd enjoys travelling, cooking, cycling, golfing, going to the beach and spending time with his wife and two active children.

Uri Levine
