AAAA is supported by the Aalborg Municipality, Det Obelske Familiefond, Region Nordjylland, and UMMK... AAAA is a multi-faceted organization that acts as an independent political advisor, arts policy platform, artist collective, project space, and social forum. Its roles range from local political advocacy, to artistic project development, to public outreach through different events, discussions, and workshops. As such, the function of the association varies according to the collective interest of the artists involved in organizing its daily activities. It is not an "association" in a traditional sense - it doesn't solicit membership - but, it does act like one in that it advocates for better working conditions for artists within the visual arts field locally...
