I studied biology, focussing on plant physiology, and did my doctorate in agricultural sciences. Research stays in Vietnam and Senegal allowed me to study my favorite plant, rice. Doing research and teaching at the university for more than a decade, I conducted and supervised many field and greenhouse experiments and taught classes in plant water relations, plant ecophysiology with a focus on tropical plants and in analysis of experimental data.
