Guided by instinct, the soul of my studio practice is echo, anchor, reflection, and release. The intent is to create a visual uncertainty with relatable moments of representation. Childlike imagination sparks when we negotiate the flux between the dreamlike unconscious and conscious. Keeping that sense of wonder, where the imagination is trying to make sense of the creative space in between what is real and what could be, is what drives me... Archiving and collecting images are crucial for my current studio practice. Resource material is gathered from childhood books, famous paintings, nature, and inspiration from memory or what dreams inspire. Elements of the subject matter provide mood and temperament that form visual triggers of form, line, color variation, tonal shades, temperature saturation, focus, speed, depth, tension, space, tempo, and fluidity. These environments introduce the viewer to a realm where adult human instinct collides into pure childlike adventure.
