ÇAMALTI SALTWORKS

Çamaltı Saltworks is the largest sea saltern of our country, established on an area of 73 km2 in the Gediz Delta. Çamaltı Saltworks, located in İzmir province, Çiğli district, near Sasalı Town, holds an industrial history of approximately 150 years. The saltworks have been established in this region due to the low slope of the region, low precipitation, high net evaporation, the presence of drying winds and extended marketing opportunities... Having been founded in 2009, the Binbir Gıda Tarım Ürünleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ continues to operate Alpullu Sugar Factory, İzmir Çamaltı Saltworks and Balıkesir Ayvalık Saltworks... Binbir Gida AŞ was entitled to the operating right of Çamaltı and Ayvalık Seaworks for 21 years in the context of corporatization in 2010. The saltworks has a manufacturing capacity of 600.000 ton sea salt.
