Our lab is focused on understanding and manipulating immune recognition, using protein engineering in cells to create novel immune treatments, and developing methods to better study and engineer diverse repertoires of molecules... The Birnbaum Lab at MIT is a leading research laboratory specializing in the study of immune receptor recognition and function in cancer, autoimmunity, and infectious disease. We combine protein engineering, structural biology, and immunology to understand and then manipulate immune responses.
