Hunter Powell

Hunter is managing director of BBI and managing director for Bitterblue, Inc. where he is responsible for sourcing and negotiating real estate development opportunities. Hunter continues his family's commitment to excellence in real estate development projects in Central Texas through Bitterblue. His responsibilities include identifying new projects, strategy, and investor relations. Prior to Bitterblue, Hunter was CEO of Splice, an award-winning photo and video editing software program which was acquired by a billion-dollar international technology firm. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, leadership, relationship management, and project development. Prior roles include Associate Director at CEB (now Gartner which is an advisory and leadership firm that provides advice to C-suite executives), Assistant Vice President at Morgan Stanley, and Pastor at Sterling Park Church. Hunter is an author and professor at the University of Texas in Austin. He earned a BA in Political Science, History, and English from The University of Pennsylvania where he competed on the swim team, and both a Masters and PhD from The University of Cambridge in England.

Lloyd A. "Laddie" Denton, Jr - Founder, Managing Director

Laddie is managing director of BBI and CEO/co-founder of Bitterblue, Inc., San Antonio's largest full-service real estate development and marketing company. He is also President of Denton Communities, central Texas' largest and most successful lot "wholesaler." Denton has developed and sold over 9,000 acres and 32,000 lots. He has been recognized as Builder of the Year in San Antonio and has served in a variety of board positions including Greater San Antonio Builders' Association (president, vice-president, treasurer), Real Estate Council of San Antonio, Urban Land Institute (30-year member), chairman of the Building Program for Saint Mary's Hall, Board of Trustees for Saint Mary's Hall, member of the Executive CommBoard of Directors for the San Antonio Zoo. Laddie earned a BBA and MBA from the University of Texas in Austin.

Scott Teeter - Managing Director

Following his passion for real estate and harnessing his entrepreneurial spirit, Scott has been responsible for the development of over 15,000 lots and multiple master planned communities in the course of his 25+ year career. He has extensive experience acquiring, financing, entitling, and developing land in all 4 of the major Texas markets for large public homebuilders including Lennar and Ryland. In 2016 he co-founded a Central Texas based land development company, Heartwood Development Company. Prior to his time in Central Texas, Scott worked in business development for Frito Lay in Dallas where he supported one of their largest product launches. He followed his mentors to Centex Homes where he played an integral role in the acquisition and integration of 4 homebuilding companies valued at over $210 million. Scott holds a B.S. in Finance from Penn State University's Schreyer Honors College and an M.B.A. with concentrations in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School. Scott is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
