BOWYER

BOWYER is a graphic design studio based in Seoul, South Korea, founded in 2016 by Hwayoung Lee and Sangjoon Hwang. Hwayoung Lee studied graphic design at Seoul National University and its graduate school, while Sangjoon Hwang studied design at Seoul National University and Goldsmiths, University of London. Both were members of Studio Plat from 2014 to 2016 before establishing BOWYER. The studio collaborates with cultural and artistic institutions, both for-profit and non-profit organizations, and occasionally undertakes self-initiated projects. They specialize in visual identity design, creating meaningful user experiences by visualizing content that defies verbal expression and consistently applying it across various media. Proficient in designing for traditional surfaces like paper or screens, they also venture into new formats and media.
