Bradley Caron

Brad is a Ph.D. candidate in Vision Science and Neuroscience at Indiana University. His research focusses on the integration of multiple neuroimaging data modalities using machine learning to understand the effects of sports concussion on the brain and the impact of clinical conditions to human vision. Brad developed multiple Apps for brainlife.io as part of his research projects. He is passionate about science, sports, and civil rights.

Brent McPherson

Brent is a Ph.D. candidate in Psychological and Brain Sciences at Indiana University. His research focusses on methods for big data neuroscience and machine learning. His scientific interests are understanding the human brain and behavior relationships across the lifespan. Brent developed several brainlife.io Apps that allow users to process raw diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging, perform advanced brain tractography, and build structural brain networks. Brent loves snakes and enjoys listening to heavy metal music.

Daniel Bullock

Job Titles:

Dan is a Psychology and Neuroscience Ph.D. candidate at Indiana University. After working at University of Cincinnati, Duke University, and North Carolina State University, he joined Franco's laboratory in 2015 focusing on methods for white matter anatomy characterization and automated segmentation. Dan has since contributed multiple Apps to brainlife.io to advance several of his scientific projects. He is passionate about student rights and an open science advocate.

David Hunt

He has developed brainlife.io Apps that allow processing of functional neuroimaging data with application to vision science. He enjoys coding, learning new things, playing with his dog, and taking naps. He is determined to pursue a Ph.D. in Neuroscience.

Franco Pestilli

Franco is Director and Founder of brainlife.io. Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Texas, Austin, Franco holds a Ph.D. from New York University and a B.A. from the University of Rome La Sapienza. Before that, he was Postdoctoral Researcher at Columbia University, Research Associate at Stanford University and faculty at Indiana University. Franco's research spans across psychology, computer science and neuroscience. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and Psychonomics Society and has received a Microsoft Investigator Fellowship and Janet Taylor Spence Award.

Giulia Bertò

Josh Faskowitz

Josh is a Ph.D. candidate at Indiana University. He conducts research at the intersection of neuroimaging and network science. Josh has contributed to brainlife.io Apps to process functional and structural neuroimaging data to build brain networks. Josh enjoys hipster coffee, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, and rooting for Tottenham Hotspur.

Josiah Leong

Josiah is Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Arkansas. He holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and was Postdoctoral researcher at Indiana University. He studies structural and functional connections in the human brain that link emotions to perception and choice. He uses brainlife.io to automate targeted white-matter characterizations in large datasets, and he is building a brainlife.io pipeline to make task-based functional MRI analyses more accessible and reproducible.

Kate Alpert

Before joining the brainlife.io team Sandra worked as Postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School. Sandra is pursuing an academic career and plans to use neuroimaging for understanding the etiology and advance diagnostic of visual and neurological disorders.

Soichi Hayashi

Soichi is senior software engineer and technical lead of the brainlife.io platform. His passion is to make supercomputers easier to use by researchers and scientists. He graduated with a B.S. in computer science and physics from Henderson State University and worked for Acxiom as a software engineer providing business intelligence and analytics solutions to various fortune 500 companies such as Discover, Citigroup, Dell/EMC. He joined Indiana University in 2008 to work for the Open Science Grid and joined the brainlife.io team in 2017.

Sophia Vinci-Booher

Sophia is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Pestilli Lab. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, a B.A. in French, and a Ph.D. in Psychology and Neuroscience from Indiana University. Her research focuses on human learning and brain plasticity throughout the lifespan. Sophia has developed brainlife.io Apps to advance her scientific projects. She enjoys running, yoga, and book clubs.

Stephanie McGavin

Stephanie is the brainlife.io outreach and communications manager. She develops content for brainlife.io newsletters, blogs, video, and engages with the brainlife.io community members. Stephanie has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Michigan State University. She works for the Indiana Network Science Institute and the Collaborative Archive & Data Research Environment project. Prior to joining brainlife.io, Stephanie worked as an automotive journalist for trade publication Automotive News and as a social media and marketing manager for a Bloomington-area startup. She spends her free time playing roller derby and forcing people to look at pictures of her dog.
