BUTTERFLY FARM

Butterfly Farm is a working christmas tree farm which also sells fresh fruits, vegetables and meats. We are also home to many weddings, parties and events... Butterfly Farm began in 1915 as a working Dairy Farm. The Farm was originally owned by Sayles Bleachery and then later sold to the Chase Family when the two farms combined to be know as Chase & Butterfly Dairy Farm. The farm milked close to 100 Holstein cattle a day serving the communities' dairy needs. The farm was later sold to Gilbert Smith and stayed in the Smith family until 2016. When the dairy industry began to decline, the herd was sold in the late 1960s. The farm morphed through many different avenues as the years went on including firewood sales, sweet corn, Christmas trees, Draft Horses, and a small flock of sheep.
