Dr. Chi Zhang, associate researcher at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2007, he received a Bachelor's degree in computer science and technology from Southwest Jiaotong University. In 2010, he received a Master's degree in traffic information engineering and control from Lanzhou Jiaotong University. In 2016, he received a PhD in computer application technology from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and stayed to work at the institute. His main research areas include biometric recognition, computational imaging, and bio-inspired visual perception and understanding. He has led 2 national natural science foundation projects (youth project and general project), one sub-project of the "New Generation Artificial Intelligence" major project, and has undertaken multiple research projects including a key project of the National Natural Science Foundation, and multiple technical cooperation projects from well-known domestic and foreign companies. He has published over 10 papers in authoritative journals and mainstream conferences at home and abroad, and has been granted multiple national invention patents.

Dr. Jian Hu, an assistant professor at the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, an assistant researcher at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Lihao Jia, associate researcher/master's supervisor. In February 2011, he received a doctoral degree in engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University. In March 2011, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the National Laboratory of Complex Systems Management and Control. In January 2013, he became an assistant researcher at the Center for Precision Perception and Control, and in October 2015, he became an associate researcher at the Robot Group of the Center for Brain-like Intelligence Research.
Dr. Jia has undertaken more than 20 national and Chinese Academy of Sciences projects, published over 20 papers, and has been granted 7 invention patents. Dr. Zhen Chen, an Assistant Professor at the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received the Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong in 2022, and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher. During the Ph.D., he had interned at Tencent AI Lab. His research focuses on computer-aided diagnosis, multimodal medical large models, smart surgical intervention and their applications to surgical embodied AI systems. He has published more than 30 papers in top-tier journals and conferences, such as MedIA, TMI, TIP, IJCV, MICCAI and AAAI. He served as the chair of ICRA-2024 C4SR+ Workshop and IJCAI-2023 Symposium on Medical Large Models, and served as the program committee of MICCAI-2022 DeCaF Workshop and MICCAI-2021 DGM Workshop. Dr. Zhiying Wu is currently an assistant professor in the Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences Limited. From Sep. 2021 to Feb. 2022, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Advanced Design and Systems Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. She received the B.E. degree from the Department of Automation, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 2016, and the Ph.D. degree jointly with the Department of Automation from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, and the Department of Advanced Design and Systems Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, in 2021, where she was advised by Professor Min Xie and Professor Junlin Xiong. Her research focuses on medical image analysis and multi-modal understanding, medical image segmentation and registration, and event-triggered control and its applications to medical robots. Dr. Wu has published 15+ SCI/EI-indexed high-quality academic papers in IEEE Transactions and top conferences.

He is the Executive Director for the Centre of AI and Robotics, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He focuses on research and development of surgical robotics systems with advanced haptic sensing and embodied artificial intelligence, to enable safer and more effective minimally invasive surgery via narrow spaces.
Prof Hongbin Liu is the Executive Director for the Centre of AI and Robotics (CAIR), Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Professor at Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Automation (CASIA), Director of the group for intelligent technology for minimally invasive surgery.
Prof Liu's group has been focusing on research and development of surgical robotic systems with advanced haptic sensing and embodied artificial intelligence, to enable safer and more effective minimally invasive surgery via narrow spaces.
Prof Liu's research has led to the clinical translation of a series of technologies for neurosurgery, respiratory interventions, as well as GI surgeries. He received the prestigious BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize in 2022 for his invention of a flexible robotic system for minimally invasive neurosurgery which has addressed and tackled the surgical difficulties of treating the deep brain lesions.
