CAPITAL REGION SPEECH - Key Persons

Melissa Gardiner is a New York state licensed and ASHA certified speech language pathologist. After receiving an undergraduate degree at SUNY Cortland, she continued education and graduated with her masters of science in communication disorders and sciences at SUNY Fredonia in Fredonia, NY. Since graduation, Melissa has been a practicing speech therapist for the past 7 years. Having had the opportunity to work with a variety of communication disorders in a vast population from birth to adulthood. with an expertise in children with autism spectrum disorder. Melissa has a strong academic background in language disorders, neurogenic disorders, anatomy, neuroscience, articulation, fluency, voice, and dysphagia. With her extensive education and clinical work, she has the knowledge, enthusiasm, and interpersonal qualities that will result in a positive experience. Not only has Melissa had the experience to evaluate, diagnose, and treat but also has a strong background in using behavior management techniques and modifications while using an Applied Behavior Analysis approach.
