CARRY CAPACITY

This course is designed to for those who are fearful of guns or those who have never handled a gun and want to learn how to safely do so. This class is approximately 2 to 3 hours long and includes a printed course guide. We will teach recommended child safety measures including secure storage and ways to avoid accidental discharge. We will also discuss and demonstrate pistol loading and unloading, handgrips and stances and standard shooting positions. Our Community Advocate, a social worker, will discuss recent surveillance data on community violence including gun violence and will inform on the parental and behavioral health considerations of gun ownership. *This course DOES NOT meet the training requirements for a concealed handgun permit...
