Derek Nagel

Background: Coach Derek is a Berks County Pennsylvania native, growing up 35 miles northwest of Philadelphia. He grew up playing baseball, basketball, football, and running track & field. Derek joined the United States Marine Corps, straight out of high school, where he served for 5 years. His professional career includes being a Department of State (DoS) and Department of Defense (DoD) contractor, before converting to a Federal Civilian at the DoD, and now works at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). During his 27 years of experience across the military, private sector and government, he's served in various management and leadership roles. Derek is a dedicated husband and father of two (11 and 10 years old) boys. His wife, Marcie, is an Air Force veteran and the owner/CEO of a small business cyber security firm during the day and baseball mom in the evenings and on weekends, from spring through fall. Derek enjoys coaching his children's sports year-round, traveling worldwide and staying in shape. He's ran 11 full marathons and countless half marathons, 10k, 5k and other races. He's an avid Philadelphia sports fan, for better or worse. Go Birds!

Doug Arguello

Background: Coach Doug grew up in Managua, Nicaragua and then spent 14 years playing baseball professionally as a pitcher within the Houston Astros organization. He worked his way up through the Astros minor league ranks to play for the AAA Oklahoma City RedHawks, while being selected to the 2010 Minor League All-Star game along the way. Coach Doug also played in various baseball leagues throughout North and South America. His pitching and overall baseball knowledge will truly be an asset to the team. Coach Doug will also be working with Rip City to provide pitching camps for all ages, as well as private lessons. He also is a volunteer coach at Freedom High School at Varsity level

Background: Coach Steve is a Massachusetts native, growing up outside Boston. He grew up playing football, hockey, and baseball. He's lived in Virginia since 2008 where he has supported National Security programs his entire career.

Tarn Jones

Background: Coach Tarn, a native of Northern Virginia, has been deeply involved in sports throughout his life, particularly baseball, hockey, and basketball. He played all three as a youth, continuing at the collegiate club level (with baseball and hockey). Even after his college years, Tarn's love for the game hasn't faded, as he remains active in recreational roller and ice hockey. For the past two decades, Tarn has shared his passion for sports by coaching youth teams for his old club ice hockey program and his children's various organizations, instilling a love of the game and strong fundamentals in the next generation of athletes. He has served as a coach for the Cavalry organization, beginning at the 7U level, playing a key part in the development of young players both on and off the field.
