COVIDUCATION

COVIDucation was developed at the Suncoast Science Center/Faulhaber Fab Lab by the Student Community Innovation Program (SCIP). The SCIP's goal is to create a positive impact on the community through youth empowerment, community engagement, and innovation. The COVID-19 outbreak propelled SCIP to address local challenges brought about by the pandemic. The safety of schools in the upcoming year is critical for all families, yet educational COVID-19 resources for kids are sparse. To address this and help students and faculty return to schools safely, students ranging from high school to college collaborated with the Sarasota County school board and mentors in a variety of fields to create a comprehensive website resource for families in Sarasota County... Content Team: Students in this team were tasked with researching and sourcing content, as well as creating the storyline and illustrations used to teach kids about COVID-19 safety.
