Andrew Cox

Andrew Cox was retained to review existing cyber risk models developed and to create insight into how alternative risk models could be developed into software products. His advice led to the development of Predictive Analytics Engine (PAE) and the associated patents underpinning the software and methodologies.

Dr. Andrew Gray

Dr. Andrew Gray was commissioned to co-develop the Predictive Analytics Engine using stochastic models based upon the actuarial review of the existing software by multi-award winning consultants, Lane Clark & Peacock. Dr. Andrew Gray is an expert in risk modelling and has acted as an external consultant for some of the world's largest financial institutions following the financial crash. These include the Royal Bank of Scotland and the sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi, ADIA.

Dr. Iain Phillips

Dr Iain Phillips (FBCS, CEng, CITP, MACM, FHEA) has been involved in computer networks research for over 25 years, with over 100 publications in this area. His main work has been in network architecture considering performance, protocols and algorithms for the Internet and Wireless Sensor Networks. He has a BSc in Computing and Information Systems and a PhD in Computer Science from Manchester University. He has worked at Loughborough since 1992 as a Research Associate and Fellow in Electronic and Electrical Engineering before moving to Computer Science in 1999. He was Head of Computer Science from 2008 to 2011. From August 2015, he has been Director of Academic Staffing in the School of Science and, from August 2016 to August 2018, the Acting Head of Computer Science.

Dr. John Welch

QinetiQ NSC's capabilities are widely used by the UK's Armed Forces to deliver both operational-level and collective, tactical-level exercises and for experimentation to inform future doctrine CyberEx Academy develops cyber awareness and cyber risk management training programmes that are actually implementable. QinetQ NSC's bespoke simulations and mathematical models have been deployed across Defence's arms and agencies for the past three decades and continue to assist in procurement processes, measuring the effectiveness of capabilities and experimentation. They are the modelling and simulation lead for Dstl's Analysis, Science and Technology Research in Defence (ASTRID) - a role which builds on a rich heritage of support that ranges from the provision of qualitative visualisations and analysis to refining software and mitigating obsolescence.

DR. PHILLIP KING-WILSON - CEO, Founder

Phillip is the founder and Managing Director of Quantar/CyberEx Academy and is a Certified GDPR Practitioner and also a Certified ISO/IEC27001 Lead Auditor. He has 22 years of experience in the cyber risk management sector, with a passion for the development of the Quantar products and services since 1998 and achieved the first US/PCT patent grant in 2005. He has subsequently led R&D and product/service development of solutions for companies to value their cyber threats. The first product was created in 2003, with further products, backed up by additional patent protection, in 2005-2006 and which now form the main products of the company. With the vision of offering unique methodologies and proprietary technologies in the provision of cyber threat valuation, Phillip has continued patent creation to the point that today no other company in a number of countries, including the U.S. and U.K., can offer such targeted and easy to use products for providing cyber threat financial valuations. As the head of the company, he is responsible for the definition and the execution of the company strategy, messaging, and go-to-market plans. R&D and new product/service creation for cyber threat valuation is a focus for Phillip, who sees the opportunity to bring the disparate disciplines of GDPR Compliance, ISO/IEC 27001 and Cyber Valuations together to help organizations to better identify and manage data and cyber risks. Phillip has extensive international management experience working across multiple sectors at all organizational levels. He has also a published author and has co-authored with world renowned academics from INSEAD Business School in France on the subject of strategic I.T. and internet threats. In 2013, Phillip was invited to the University of South Florida as a visiting academic, to undertake cyber threat research in the Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department. He moved to Florida and researched the use of epidemiological models for cyber threat risk management and in cloud security until mid-2015. The output formed part of his latest academic paper, titled "Cyber risk analysis and valuation: a new combinatorial models and systems approach", which was published in the International Journal for Business Continuity and Risk Management (September 2017, Vol 7, No. 2). Phillip has a business law degree from the U.K., an MBA from Belgium and a doctorate in cyber risk management from France and the UK.

Jonathan Scherer

Jonathan Scherer was contracted to evaluate our company's original intellectual property and US patent application in 2002. Based upon feedback, we were able to gain allowance of our first patent in 2005, facilitating global protection. Jonathan remains an IP adviser for the company in its US dealings for licensing and divestment interests.
