Javier Lozano

Javier brings more than 30 years of HR & Business-related experience. Javier developed his expertise through various HR and operational assignments in both the private and the public sector. Javier has demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Employee Relations, Performance Management, Rewards & Systems, Diversity & Inclusion, Labor Relations, Training & Development, Team Development, Lean, Process Improvement, Project Management, Conflict Resolution, Leadership Development Business Management, International Management, Strategic Business Planning and much more. Javier holds a BS in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of La Verne in La Verne, CA. and is certified as Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR), Professional in Human Resources-California (PHRca), Global Professional in Human Resource (GPHR) and SHRM-SCP certification. Javier is an adjunct professor at CSU Bakersfield, Cal Poly Pomona, and University of La Verne where he lectures on Human Resources Management, Business Management, International Management and Strategic Business Planning. Javier currently serves as the Chair for United Way of Kern County and VP of Youth for KC LULAC and has previously served on numerous other volunteer and community boards.

Lisa Hockersmith

With more than 20 years of human resource experience, Lisa has acquired expertise from a variety of industries including medical, banking, healthcare, and media. Lisa has demonstrated proficiencies in a variety of areas, including compensation administration, employee relations and employee development, legal compliance, and benefits administration. Lisa possesses strong knowledge of Federal and State laws governing FMLA, ADA, PFL and workers' compensation. Lisa is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). Lisa's excellent presentation skills make her an outstanding trainer for both management and employees. Lisa has been a repeat presenter for the annual CSUB workers' compensation symposium, she has served on the board of the Kern County Chapter of SHRM in several different capacities and has been an instructor for the past three years for the SHRM Certification Course offered through CSUB.

Mark Veary

Mark has been working in the L&D world for over 20 years. He has worked in the energy sector as a learning leader in a major corporation. This has given Mark the opportunity to internationally in organizational and learning and development roles in business units and corporate service companies. Countries include South Africa and Angola. Before working in the energy sector, Mark worked for 25 years in the UK National Health Service as a registered nurse, clinical educator, and organizational development consultant. Mark has a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Behavior and Change Management and is currently a doctoral student Franklin University, exploring how large organizations need to reimagine, adopt, and apply people skills. Mark is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personal Development (UK) and an Associate Credentialed Coach with the ICF.

Sam Chow

Sam brings over 20 years of management and human resource experience to HRCS, Inc. He has a broad range of HR experience, including employee orientation, leadership counseling and coaching, diversity & inclusion strategies, technical recruiting, staff evaluation and retention, mentoring and organizational development. Sam has developed and implemented cross-functional, technical intern and mentor programs in addition to being a seasoned facilitator in a variety of leadership and employee learning sessions. Most recently Sam designed a learning governance model to support employee growth and development. Sam has served on multiple local and state boards of directors in many capacities, including President (SHRM, CASA, KC Museum of Arts, and currently on board of Associated Builders & Contractors). He has also served as an instructor for the Kern County SHRM Human Resource Certificate Program through CSUB Extended University.
