Amir Chalati

Job Titles:
  • Researcher
Dr. Chalati, an IMG ( International Medical Graduate) with one year of clinical work experience as an intern. He's currently working towards re-certification in Canada. His medical certificates are verified by the MCC and ECFMG. Dr. Chalati is a volunteer researcher under the supervision of prof. Ding.

Hassan Gaber

Job Titles:
  • Undergraduate Student
Hassan Gaber is a third year undergraduate student in the Electrical Engineering program at McGill University. The research areas of interest to Hassan are data mining, data visualization, and leveraging machine learning models for drug development. Currently, he is participating in the Lab's research for developing an interactive cell dynamics platform.

Heechul (Ryan) Chung

Heechul (Ryan) Chung is a MS student in Experimental Medicine at McGill University. He received his B.S in Computer Science and Life Science at Sogang University. His research interest mainly focus on computational cancer genomics research. Typically, he aims to find critical targets that might affect progression and metastasis of pan-cancer from Tumor Microenvironment (TME), especially focusing on the role of Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts (CAFs) and their associated genes. Before joining lab, he worked as a computational biologist at the Center for Cancer Genome Discovery of Asan Medical Center. He participated in several cancer genomics projects focusing on Gastric Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, and Ovarian Cancer.

Jingtao Wang

Jingtao received his B.E. in Computer Science at Harbin Institute of Technology in China, and an M.S. in Automated Science at Carnegie Mellon University in the US. His research interest is the application of machine learning (particularly deep learning and active learning) on single cell data.

Kai Lu Song

Kai Lu is a PhD student in quantitative life science. She received her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at Purdue University and master's degree at Cornell University. Before join Dr. Ding's lab, she was working as a principal programmer at a leading pharmaceutical company to develop anti-cancer drug therapy. Her research interests are developing machine learning models to analysis single-cell omics data and AI drug discovery.

Paul Hansen

Job Titles:
  • Undergraduate Student
Paul Hansen is a third year undergraduate in the honours Computer Science and Physics at McGill University. program at McGill. His research interest is data visualization and machine learning applications in the medical field. He is currently supporting the lab in its reaserch into the IPF-disease by developing interactive visualization methods.

Shuaishuai Jiang

Shuaishuai is a third year undergraduate student at McGill University majoring in Computer Science. Her research interests include machine learning applications and data visualization. She is currently working on developing interactive visualization methods for dynamic single-cell data.

Sonia Sharapova

Job Titles:

Sonia is a fourth year undergraduate student pursuing a joint Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Biology at McGill University. Her areas of research include data analysis and machine learning for diseases. Currently, Sonia is working with our lab collaborators in finding immune genes prevalent in fungal infections.

Xiong Yiwei

Job Titles:

Yiwei is finishing his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Mathematics at McGill University. He is working on the study of links between COVID-19 and clinical variables using Bayesian Network.

Xue Er

Job Titles:

Xue Er is a second year undergraduate student in Honours Computer Science and Biology at McGill University. Her research interests include bioinformatics and machine learning applications in the health sciences. She is currently working on developing graph-based machine learning models for single-cell data analysis.

Yanshuo Chen

Yanshuo Chen is a MS student in Exp Med program. He recieved his B.Sc in Biological Sciences at Tsinghua University. His research interests focus on genomics and protein design. He aims at building "small and effective" algorithms for interesting biological topics.

Yasmin Jolasun

Job Titles:

Yasmin is a first-year M.Sc. student in Experimental Medicine at McGill University. She received her bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics at Université de Montréal (2022). Her research interests comprise utilizing bioinformatics tools and machine learning approaches in the medical field.

Yiqing Zhu

Yiqing Zhu is a third year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with minor Statistics at McGill University. Her research interests include machine learning and data visualization in the medical field. Currently, she is working with our lab collaborators in developing interactive visualization methods for dynamic single-cell omics data.

Yiyang Wang

Yiyang wang is a second-year undergraduate pursuing a joint Bachelor's degree in Biology and Mathematics at McGill University. His areas of research include data analysis. Yiyang is currently working with our lab collaborators to analyze single-cell expression data.

Yong Jin Kweon

Jin received a bachelors degree in Statistics at the University of California, Berkeley. Previously, Jin studied auditory working memory performance and multi-omics integrations. His research project is on AI drug design: he wants to find a specific drug targeting to certain diseases.

Yumin Zheng

Yumin is a PhD student in Quantitative Life Science (QLS). He received his Bachelor's degree in Internet of Things Engineering at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) in China (2020). His research interests include machine learning and deep learning algorithms in the biological and medical fields. Currently, Yumin is developing machine learning models for single-cell data to analyse disease progression and to discover drugs.
