Dr. Altamash Shaikh completed his MBBS and is a state ranker from Rajiv Gandhi University Of Health and Sciences. He then obtained a DNB in General Medicine through Mumbai Port Trust Hospital in 2007, and topped this up with a DNB in Endocrinology through P D Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Mumbai, in 2011. During the years of his studies, internship and residency, Dr. Shaikh gained experience at several hospitals around the country, including Civil Hospital (Bijapur), Bombay Hospital (Mumbai), Mumbai Port Trust Hospital, LTMG Hospital (Mumbai), KEM Hospital (Mumbai), PGI (Chandigarh), and P D Hinduja Hospital (Mumbai). He has actively participated at national and international workshops, training programmes and conferences to enhance his knowledge and skills, and is also involved in teaching medical students(undergraduates and post graduates), family physicians and paramedical staff. Dr. Samit S Jain is a Mumbai-based Consultant Gastroenterologist currently practising at dadar and south mumbai . He has the postdoctoral DM (Gastroenterology) degree as well as a DNB in Gastroenterology. Dr. Samit Jain is highly skilled in providing clinical care in in-patient, out-patient and intensive care settings. He has considerable experience in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures with a high level of competence, and has performed more than 7000 diagnostic oesophagogastroduodenoscopy and 3000 colonoscopies, besides having performed more than 2500 ERCPs and 2000 EUS independently. He is proficient in various therapeutic endoscopic procedures including variceal ligation, variceal injection, endoscopic dilatation with bougie and balloon, endoscopic treatment of ulcer bleeds, polypectomy, argon plasma photocoagulation and other common procedures. He is also familiar with oesophageal / anorectal manometry and pH-metry procedures, and has independently done sphincterotomies, oesophageal stents, and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomies. Dr. Samit has gained valuable teaching experience at TNMC. He has presented seminars, lectures, and interesting clinical cases at the Bombay Society of GI meetings, and has a keen interest in weekly journal clubs, gastrointestinal pathology and gastrointestinal radiology meetings. Dr. Jain has also contributed with several papers connected to his area of expertise, which have been published in national and international journals, and in addition has also presented abstracts at various conferences and other forums. A regular award-winner and topper for his outstanding academic efforts, Dr. Jain is conversant in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and French.
