Ana Lopez

I am Ana Lopez, and I hold a Master's of Social Work in macro social work practice from the University of Southern California. I am a certified 200 RYT yoga teacher, and am currently working on my Executive Master's of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. My research has focused on gender violence and human trafficking as it applies to labor migration. My work has allowed me to merge the world of social justice, business, and innovative technology as I have consulted for new emerging startups in Southern California. In mental health and wellness, I have had the opportunity of working with trauma survivors in community mental health, the Federal Public Defender's Office, and with children aged 0-17. I have also worked with children and adults who have struggled with: sexual assault, violence in the home, anxiety, panic disorders, PTSD, and depression.

Dr. Angela Johnson

Dr. Angela Johnson is a UC Berkeley, UCSF, and UCLA-trained clinical psychologist. She works closely with clients to ensure thorough, personalized, thoughtful, and evidence-based care that empowers children, adolescents, and adults to reach their optimal emotional, social, behavioral, psychological, and cognitive potential. She is focused on creating a caring environment in which clients and families feel supported, understood, and empowered. Dr. Johnson specializes in psychological, cognitive-educational, social-emotional, and neuropsychological assessment and evidence-based therapy. She has expertise in evaluating, treating, and supporting a broad range of challenges, concerns, and goals. Dr. Johnson works with her clients from a systems and relational approach, utilizing evidence-based practices, and considering the influence of early experiences and social and cultural factors. In addition to evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, Dr. Johnson provides play therapy and parent management training, elements of mindfulness, family systems therapy, and psychoeducation/developmental guidance. She also incorporates an understanding of neuroscience and current research, the influence of nutrition, and the important relationship between mental and physical health. She provides culture- and experience-responsive treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and families with diverse experiences. In parallel to her clinical experience, she has extensive research experience in examining sociocultural, family, and biological processes influencing mental health and adjustment throughout the lifespan, in diverse populations, immigrant communities, and families who have experienced interruptions in caregiving (e.g., foster care, adoption, separation). A California native, Dr. Johnson graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree with honors in Psychology at UCLA, and a Master's Degree in Psychology and PhD in Psychology, Clinical Science at UC Berkeley. Dr. Johnson completed her American Psychological Association-accredited pre-doctoral internship and clinical psychology fellowship at UCSF in the Department of Psychiatry. She has also worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults with histories of trauma at UCSF/San Francisco General Hospital. Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Johnson is a lecturer in the department of psychology at UC Berkeley, and has published her scientific research in peer-reviewed psychology journals. She has presented her work at national conferences as well as at UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Stanford University.

Dr. Christina Chick

I am Dr. Christina Chick, licensed clinical psychologist at Mind-Body Care. In addition to seeing clients at Mind-Body Care, I hold an appointment as an instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine. At Stanford, I conduct research to better understand how conditions such as depression, anxiety and PTSD affect how people think, sleep, and-of course-feel. Using my background in research, I am able to better understand the mechanisms of these conditions and identify the treatments that are most likely to offer relief. During my clinical training and research, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of people, including adolescents, veterans, families, and older adults.

Dr. Hanna Chang

My name is Dr. Hanna Chang and I am a licensed psychologist. I earned my masters degree (M.A.) in mental health counseling from Boston College, and my doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in counseling psychology from Loyola University Chicago. I have worked at a wide range of clinical settings, such as a residential community mental health center, 24-hour crisis line, substance use/addictions care in a hospital, and multiple university counseling centers. I have also worked with a diverse range of clients with varying cultural backgrounds. In addition to private practice, I also teach at University of San Francisco's MFT Program.

Dr. Harold T. Ames

Dr. Harold T. Ames is a licensed Industrial/Organizational and Clinical Psychologist (HI PSYI-6/CA PSYI-32782). He is a McNair Scholar and graduated from Capella University in 2016 with a Ph.D. in psychology. Dr. Ames works with individuals, families, and organizations. He is a general practitioner who specializes in Humanistic Psychology to help his clientele achieve their mental healthcare needs and goals. He has practiced and mastered various approaches such as, cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, and multisystemic therapy to name a few. He believes the sacred practice of therapy works best when it is individualized, culturally significant, and from a transformational approach through spirituality. He has found this approach works well with stress, depression and anxiety types of conditions. Dr. Ames has provided these services with this approach for almost 20 years among various populations, such as children, adults, and the aging community, in different settings; such as, in schools, hospitals, and in the community. His current approach is transcendental in nature. Meaning, he helps guide his clientele to take personal control, embrace the state of change, and focus in the present tense. Dr. Ames believes in the healing experience of sitting still, which is the "work." He gently guides his clientele to master themselves by utilizing the classics of an Eastern worldview. Dr. Ames is the co- founder of the new and emerging field of AI Psychologyâ„¢, which is under development and meant to protect human psychology from the negative impacts associated with technology (i.e. social media). He was recently published in the United Nations Encyclopedia with Project GLOW, Massey University in New Zealand. He has served the community as a Commissioner on Human Rights, a Commissioner on Salary, and Chaired a Board on Mental Health & Substance Abuse. Dr. Ames passionate about advocating for policies that make sense to treat mental health conditions and to help prevent child abuse and Neglect.

Dr. Julie Hall

Dr. Julie Hall is a Psychological Research Associate supervised by Dr. Lyndsay Reese and Dr. Shilpa Kapoor. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Virginia, a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience at Indiana University, and a Doctoral degree in Psychology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Hall also completed two years of training as a Visiting Scholar in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at Stanford University. Dr. Hall is excited to be a part of the Mind-Body team and is looking forward to using empirically validated therapy methods to treat children, teens, and adults with depression, substance abuse and addiction, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, OCD, and PTSD. She aims to use cognitive behavioral therapy to enable clients to live more fulfilling lives aligned with their individual values. Dr. Hall has experience working with clients from diverse ages and backgrounds, including individuals from various cultures, sexual orientations, disabilities, and economic and racial backgrounds. Dr. Hall has over 10 years of experience providing cognitive and neuropsychological assessment, crisis intervention, and cognitive behavioral therapy to children, teens, and adults in hospital, school, university, and community mental health settings. In addition, she is interested in empirically validated treatments for anxiety and mood disorders and the interaction of biology and behavior. As a graduate student, she held leadership positions in the Association for Psychological Science and authored over a dozen scientific publications and book chapters along with numerous conference and workshop presentations. Dr. Hall was also the recipient of a prestigious National Science Foundation fellowship. Her Master's thesis research was published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology and her dissertation research received awards from the University of Michigan Graduate School, Association for Psychological Science, Cognitive Neuroscience Society, and Society for Psychophysiology Research. Dr. Hall is excited to help clients overcome challenges and live a more fulfilling life and tailors her sessions to clients' individual needs and values. She uses a biopsychosocial approach to better understand and treat clients' mental health concerns. In her free time, Dr. Hall enjoys traveling, sailing, ballet, opera, trivia and casino games, live concerts, and sporting events, particularly Bay Area teams.

Dr. Mansi Verma

Hi, I am Jesse Shulte, a psychological associate at Mind-Body Care. I have a deep passion for helping people discover true authorship of their fullest life potentials. This work involves identifying and leveraging innate personalized core strengths to support best living and thriving in a stress-filled world. In cooperation with this, our work together delves into ways that people get in their own way in reaching their truest potential. In this way, we bring light to self-defeating habits and beliefs, potentiating access to more adaptive choices that lead to greater and greater optimized outcomes. These limiting self-structures are often unconscious and habitual by default, making them inherently difficult to work with and change due to the way they obscure our self-insight like shadows in the mind. Further in this work together, resulting insights allow the necessary degrees of flexible control and developmental self-mastery toward actualizing a truly optimized life. I have been studying the craft of personalized optimization for many years, and have gained an intuitive sense for assisting people learn how to lean into unobscured and fully self-empowered authorship of their lives. I was born in Portland, Oregon and have lived on the East Coast close to New York City and in the Southwest in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and my Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, with concentration in the neurobiology of the mind.
