Andrew J. Morrissey

Attorney Andrew J. Morrissey is a Partner in the Law Firm of Morrissey, Morrissey & Rydzik, LLC, and a 1988 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law. After law school, he spent four years in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Judge Advocate and attained the rank of Captain. He returned to Connecticut in 1992 and has been practicing in the state since that time. Attorney Morrissey was recognized as a board-certified specialist in workers' compensation by the State of Connecticut Bar Association in its inaugural class of 2001 and has held this certification since that time. He regularly represents injured workers at informal, preformal, and Formal Workers' Compensation proceedings, and has briefed and argued cases on numerous occasions before The Compensation Review Board, as well as The Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts. In addition to workers' compensation, Attorney Morrissey also represents clients in personal injury matters as well as public sector employment law. For over 40 years, founding attorney David J. Morrissey has been a board-certified specialist in workers' compensation law. Attorney Morrissey has represented clients at all levels in the workers' compensation forum, including the Connecticut Supreme Court. His primary areas of practice include workers' compensation, personal injury, public sector labor, and pension law, and Social Security disability. Throughout his legal career, he has represented many public-sector labor unions as well as dealt with all areas concerning the interaction of labor, workers' compensation, and Connecticut heart and hypertension laws. Attorney Morrissey's legal successes have been recognized numerous times over the years, most recently by trusted legal rating organizations Super Lawyers® and Martindale Hubbell. He is recognized as an expert in the area of workers' compensation by the State of Connecticut Bar Association. Attorney Morrissey has also been recognized as a Connecticut and New England Superlawyer by Law & Politics Magazine. Additionally, he is a member (Fellow) of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers, of which only 20 attorneys in Connecticut have been selected to be a part of. Jill Morrissey Rydzik joined Morrissey, Morrissey & Mooney as an associate in 2007. Jill received her J.D magna cum laude from Quinnipiac School of Law in 2007 with a concentration in Tax Law. Her primary areas of practice are workers' compensation, personal injury, and social security disability appeals. She has handled workers' compensation cases at the trial and appellate levels including the Connecticut Supreme Court. Jill served as the co-chair of the workers' compensation committee for the Young Lawyers Section of the Connecticut Bar Association from 2010 through 2012.
