Alex Gleason serves as assistant vice president for federal and political Affairs at NAMIC, advocating on behalf of NAMIC member companies with lawmakers in the House and Senate as well as relevant federal regulatory agencies on issues related to the property/casualty insurance industry.
Prior to joining NAMIC, Gleason served as a vice president at Crossroads Strategies, providing strategic advice and guidance on engaging with members of Congress and the administration for clients in the financial services, tax, and healthcare industries. During his time at CRS, Alex secured multiple victories for clients on both the legislative and regulatory fronts.
Previously, Gleason was the associate director of legislative affairs at the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions, working with members of the House and Senate on issues facing the credit union industry. He began his professional career on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant to Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., then-chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee. In this capacity, Gleason served as a policy advisor to Rep. Royce on financial services issues.
A native of Frankfort, Ill., Gleason was also an intern for former Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio. He earned his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University.

Andrew Pauley, CPCU serves as Public Policy Counsel for NAMIC in a cross-functional role supporting the State, Federal and International/Regulatory divisions of the Government Affairs Department. Andrew additionally works with the Workers' Compensation Council, Amicus Working Group, NAIC Working Group and Policy Research Council. He covers civil justice reform issues and other international and regulatory concerns among other issues. He joined NAMIC in 2018.
Prior to NAMIC, Andrew served in multiple roles including Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel in the West Virginia Insurance Commissioner's Office for over ten years. His responsibilities included serving as liaison with the state legislature, litigating cases before the highest court in the state and serving as counsel to three insurance commissioners in all areas of insurance operations and regulatory policy. Andrew participated regularly at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). Further, Pauley directly participated in several insurance initiatives including the privatization of the state workers' compensation monopolistic system and residual claim run-off, medical malpractice insurance reform and third party unfair trade practice reform. Pauley has extensive experience in insurance defense including defending large commercial claims and coverage issues.
Andrew has an undergraduate and law degree from West Virginia University. While at law school, he was bestowed the honor of The Order of Barristers by the faculty. He also holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation conferred by The Institutes. He is a member of the West Virginia state bar.

Andrew Perkins, MBA, serves as NAMIC's Regional Vice President - Great Lakes. He advocates on behalf of NAMIC member companies in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Before joining the NAMIC staff, he was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner. Prior to working in the governor's office, he served as the Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and was an appropriations analyst for the Illinois Senate Republican staff.
Perkins holds a bachelor's degree in finance and political science from Illinois College and a master's of business administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

has been with NAMIC since 2018. As a compliance analyst, she assists with developing and managing compliance resources for NAMIC's membership. Before coming to NAMIC, Angela worked at McNeely Law, LLC, where she was an arbitration specialist. During her time there, she filed over 350 arbitration filings for insurance subrogation clients. Prior to her experience with NcNeely, Angela was a practicing attorney in a general setting where she met a variety of legal needs particularly in the areas of family and criminal law. She earned her Juris Doctor (JD) from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Marian University, and her Bachelor's from Purdue University.

Bri comes to NAMIC with over 21 years of experience in the insurance industry working with Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Company in Enumclaw, WA. Her early years were spent in underwriting, first in small commercial business and later working with commercial and farm lines. In 2007 she transitioned to a product development role. Being involved from start to finish with rate and product changes, as well as state expansion initiatives, has given her a broad perspective on compliance and how important it is to every aspect of insurance. Bri is also actively involved with the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals where she is currently serving as President of the organization. Her involvement with AICP has provided her with a valuable network of compliance professionals from which to draw expertise.

Brian Holcombe, MPA, is the state and policy affairs manager for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. He helps organize and execute NAMIC's state lobbying efforts and provides administrative support to the State Affairs Committee. Additionally, Holcombe serves as the connection between the NAMIC team and staffs at the National Conference of Insurance Legislators and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
Holcombe received a double bachelor's degree in political science and history from Purdue University, where he currently serves on the Purdue University College of Liberal Arts Alumni Board. He went on to receive his master's degree in public administration from Norwich University in 2018.
Prior to joining the NAMIC team, Holcombe spent four years in various administrative roles in the Indiana Secretary of State's Office. Additionally, he spent time working for the Indiana Republican House Caucus and with an Indiana governor's campaign.

Caitlin Murray serves as NAMIC's Regional Vice President - Southeast. She advocates on behalf of NAMIC member companies in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Before joining the NAMIC staff, she was the Director of Government Affairs for the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. Most recently, Murray served as a Policy Advisor to the Secretary of the United States Department of Transportation. She has a long background in legislative, campaign, and fundraising activities, managing state Senate offices and political races.
She holds a bachelor's degree in political science and interdisciplinary social sciences from Florida State University.

Cate Paolino, JD, MBA, MPA, serves as NAMIC's Director of Public Policy. She is responsible for providing the association and its membership with key policy expertise and analysis on legislative and regulatory issues of interest to the property/casualty insurance industry at the state, federal, and international levels.
Paolino is a former NAMIC Regional Vice President of the Northeast Region. She came to NAMIC from Travelers, where she worked in business insurance serving as senior counsel and second vice president, Regulatory Research and Compliance. She spent more than 10 years as senior counsel at the American Insurance Association. Her skill set includes legislative and regulatory analysis, legislative drafting including the drafting of model legislation, experience with commercial insurance issues and drafting and presenting testimony.
She holds an MPA from Brown University, an EMBA from Suffolk University, and a law degree from the University of Connecticut.

Catherine Imus currently leads the public affairs activities for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. In that capacity, Imus oversees all communications and public relations activities, such as advocacy and member communications, as well as digital and print communications, including serving as editor-in-chief for IN magazine.
Over a 30-year career, Imus has held positions in the media, government, and corporate and association public affairs. Prior to joining NAMIC in January 2015, Imus was senior strategist, executive vice president at Stanton Communications, a national public relations agency based in Washington, D.C. There she directed strategic communications programs for a variety of corporate and trade association clients. She joined the agency in 2001 from a national trade association, where she was executive director for a broad consumer education and industry awareness campaign. Previously, she directed communications for an industry trade association representing insulation manufacturers, where she dealt with issues related to worker safety, public health, and the environment. For eight years, she held the position of vice president at an international public affairs agency. She also worked as a lobbyist for a major steel company, following a three-year stint as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill.
Imus began her career as a news director and later news anchor for a leading radio station in northern Indiana. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a degree in mass communications and political science.

Holding a juris doctorate degree from the University of Colorado School of Law, Rataj has extensive legal experience. Prior to joining NAMIC, he was a trial lawyer specializing in insurance subrogation and defense and civil litigation. He has also been a mediator and an adjunct professor of business law.

David Farney joined NAMIC in 2022. As a compliance specialist - workers' compensation, David assists with developing and managing compliance content focused on workers' compensation issues. Before joining the NAMIC compliance team, David practiced civil and administrative law in Idaho with a focus on workers' compensation. Earlier in his legal career, David served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Idaho where he represented the Idaho Department of Insurance. David is a graduate of Washburn University and the University of Idaho College of Law.

Erin Collins has spent nearly 20 years as a policy advocate across the financial services and insurance sectors. Erin currently manages the National State Legislative and Regulatory Team and related lobbying objectives for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. She also leads NAMIC's involvement with the National Conference of Insurance Legislators and participates in NAMIC's activities with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
At NAMIC, Erin has testified before numerous state legislatures and Congress on behalf of the association's 1,500 member companies and their 170 million policyholders on topics ranging from frequency and severity of auto accidents, reform of opioid abuse in the workers' compensation sector, and pre-disaster mitigation aimed to harden local communities throughout the United States.
In addition to her professional work, Erin is passionate about the St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization aiming to cure childhood cancers through dedicated cancer research. Erin shaved her head in September 2019 for the cause, becoming the world's fifth leading fundraiser for that year.
Erin received her bachelor's degree in political science from Mary Baldwin University and her master's degree in public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Prior to joining the NAMIC team, Erin spent more than six years as the director of government affairs for the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she led all lobbying initiatives, grassroots activity, and the Society's Political Action Committee. Erin resides in Richmond, Va. with her wife Erin and their son Anderson.
Erin M. Collins, MPA, IOM, is Senior Vice President - State & Policy Affairs for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. Erin manages NAMIC's state lobbying objectives as well as its State Affairs Committee. She also leads NAMIC's involvement with the National Conference of Insurance Legislators and participates in NAMIC's activities with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Gregg A. Dykstra is chief legal officer and special counsel. He has been with the association since 1997 and his areas of responsibility presently include association legal matters and oversight of the the strategic and annual business planning for NAMIC.
Gregg is the author of three publications dealing with mutual governance issues: a NAMIC White Paper - Meeting Challenges and Exceeding Expectations in Corporate Governance; and two Governance Resource Papers - Financial Literacy and Mutual Insurance Company Proxy Practice. Jimi Grande joined NAMIC in March of 2007 and currently leads NAMIC's federal and political activities as senior vice president of federal and political affairs.

At NAMIC, Grande has been a tireless advocate for the industry, navigating the association through difficult political environments from the 2008 financial crisis and ensuing Dodd-Frank Act to the COVID-19 pandemic that put the mutual property/casualty insurance industry in the crosshairs of trial attorneys, lawmakers, and regulators. At the same time, Grande has led NAMIC's bipartisan efforts to enact federal policies that will help communities across America better protect themselves from natural disasters. Under Grande's leadership, NAMIC founded the BuildStrong Coalition and has achieved historic support for natural disaster mitigation and recovery programs. He also led industry efforts to keep safety the top priority for federal policies governing automated vehicles and other emerging technologies. Grande has dramatically grown the association's political involvement programs for its membership and shaped NAMIC into a political force.
Grande has spent more than 26 years working for and with top policymakers in Washington and has been named a top lobbyist by The Hill five years in a row. He began his career as special assistant to former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich and came to NAMIC after serving as a political appointee in the Bush administration at the U.S. Department of Labor, where he was a top liaison to Capitol Hill.
Grande entered politics after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of Oswego in upstate New York. He currently resides in Fairfax, Va. with his wife, Buffy, daughter Georgia, and son Jimmy Jr. He is an active member in his church and local community and is devoted to raising awareness and money to fund research to find a cure for Fragile X Syndrome, the most common cause of inherited mental impairment, which has impacted Jimmy Jr.

Jon has more than 15 years of legislative and regulatory experience. Most recently, he was Chief of Staff to Texas State Representative John Smithee, a longtime chair of the House Insurance Committee, and he has also held the positions of General Counsel and Senior Policy Advisor on insurance to the Speaker of the Texas House. Jon was also an attorney at Thompson & Knight, LLP, and a Policy Analyst for the Office of State Senator Todd Staples.

Jonathan Rodgers serves NAMIC as the Director of Financial and Tax Policy. His responsibilities include representing member-company interests in the areas of statutory accounting and related financial regulation. Prior to joining the State and Policy Affairs department, Rodgers spent 7 years in the finance department at NAMIC serving as an accountant. His roles included preparing financial statements, developing budgets, and performing other various accounting functions.

Kristin Eichhorn serves as NAMIC's Assistant Vice President - Political Involvement Programs. Since joining NAMIC's Washington DC office in 2009, she has been actively involved in the issues facing the property/casualty insurance industry. In her role, she manages the political involvement programs and day to day operations of the Federal & Political Affairs Department including the development and execution of strategic department initiatives.

Mark Vander Kooy was named NAMIC's chief strategy officer in June 2022 to foster the association's continued growth and sustain its mission into the future. He has more than 25 years of experience creating, managing, and growing productive teams while increasing revenue in a variety of industries. In this position, Vander Kooy will oversee NAMIC departments - Corporate Strategy & Member Experience, Accounting/Treasury; NAMIC Insurance Agency/NIA; Building Services, and Information Technology.
Prior to joining NAMIC, he served as the CEO of Traders Point Creamery, an Indianapolis-based agritourism company and food brand, from 2015 until 2022. In 2001, he founded an electronic recycling services company, and, after its acquisition, he went on to launch a consulting company focusing on corporate strategy and improving team culture, while also acquiring a local cartage company.

Matt Overturf joins NAMIC after 10 years of state government work in Ohio. He previously was the Government Relations Officer at the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). Prior to OPERS Matt worked as a legislative aide and Deputy Budget Director for the Speaker of the Ohio House.

Neil Alldredge serves as president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, a property/casualty insurance trade association representing more than 1,500 member companies that write $357 billion in annual premiums.
Alldredge assumed the role of president and CEO in July 2021 after serving in various executive roles at NAMIC. He joined the association in 1999, leading NAMIC's state legislative, regulatory, and international advocacy efforts for 17 years. In that role Alldredge regularly testified before state legislators around the country and represented NAMIC members at the National Association of the Insurance Commissioners, the National Conference of Insurance Legislators, and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. He also served on the board of directors of the Advocates for Highway Safety and as board chair of the NCOIL's Industry Education Council.
In 2017, Alldredge was named senior vice president of corporate affairs, where he led NAMIC's membership retention and recruitment, events and education, public affairs, compliance, and marketing and technology areas. He currently chairs the board of the NAMIC Insurance Company (NAMICO) and serves on the board of the NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation. Alldredge also serves on the board of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and is part of the Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA) General Assembly. Prior to joining NAMIC, Alldredge served as director of Planning and Research for the Indiana State Senate.

As senior vice president of corporate strategy and member experience, Sarah Schnettler leads NAMIC's marketing; event, education, and association services; and recruitment, retention, and engagement of member insurance companies, reinsurance companies, brokers, and other companies that provide insurance-related services and products to the association's membership.
Schnettler also serves as the executive director of the NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation, an organization providing scholarships to U.S. college students pursuing insurance-related fields of study.
Schnettler joined NAMIC in 2009 and has held the roles of project manager for NAMIC's state legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts; director of corporate affairs, where she oversaw the planning and implementation of strategic and special projects within the association; assistant vice president of membership; vice president of member and sponsor engagement; and assistant treasurer of the NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation. Prior to NAMIC, she spent 10 years in the banking industry in Wisconsin and Indiana, serving in communication and marketing roles.

Tom Karol serves as General Counsel - Federal in NAMIC's Washington office. Tom represents NAMIC in Washington on issues impacting property casualty insurance companies and has primary management of NAMIC's response to Dodd-Frank legislation and regulation. Tom is also the Leader of NAMIC's Investment Services Practice.
Tom has extensive legal, regulatory and operations experience with major financial services companies, law firms, regulatory agencies and Congress. Tom was a leader in Deloitte's Global Financial Services practice, a supervisory principal for a broker dealer, with the S.E.C. Division of Enforcement and with the U.S. Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs.
Tom graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School and has a political science degree from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. He resides in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife, Kathryn, his son David and his daughter Julianne.

Tony Cotto has joined NAMIC as Director of Auto and Underwriting Policy. Most recently, Cotto served as an executive advisor in the Kentucky Public Protection Cabinet, overseeing legislative and regulatory reform efforts across more than 35 agencies and licensing boards, including the Department of Insurance.
Prior to that, Cotto advised insurance entities in private practice as a managing associate at the law firm of Frost Brown Todd, which followed a 5-year stint as financial policy and legislative counsel at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Cotto also served as counsel to the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations advising the ranking member at the time, Dr. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., and as Associate General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Commerce in the George W. Bush administration.
Cotto earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and his bachelor's degree in political science from Yale University. He lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife Becca and daughter Hannah.

Vaun Cleveland serves as federal affairs director in the association's Washington, D.C., office.
Cleveland brings to NAMIC a history of tackling complex policy issues for government agencies at both the federal and local levels. He was most recently with the American Academy of Actuaries, where he served in the role of risk management and financial reporting policy analyst. Prior to that, Cleveland worked at the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, in the Securities and Banking division providing public affairs and legal support. He has also worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant to Rep. Ed Towns, D-N.Y.
Cleveland earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Howard University and a Juris Doctorate from the university's School of Law. He lives in Washington D.C. with his wonderful wife and spirited son.
