Dr Harvey Rainville is a board certified General and Bariatric surgeon. Originally from Dallas Texas, he completed his undergraduate education at Baylor University.
He later moved to New York City in 2006, where he completed his General Surgery residency at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine at Montefiore Hospital. Dr Rainville went on to specialize in Robotic and Bariatric Surgery at the University of Texas in Houston. He joined the practice in North Jersey immediately upon completion of his training.
Dr Rainville has been a pioneer of Robotic and Bariatric Surgery since he started practice in 2013. As of today Dr Rainville has performed the most Robotic Bariatric surgeries in the entire state of New Jersey and continues to pursue the latest in advanced surgical techniques.
He is the Medical Director of Robotic Surgery at Hackensack UMC Mountainside Hospital and is an instructor and proctor to surgeons across the country for DaVinci Robotic surgery.
Dr. Kartik Gohil was raised in Baroda, India. After completing his high school in top 1 percentile of his class, he proceeded to complete his medical training at esteemed Baroda Medical College at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He graduated top of his class. Then he moved to United States and completed his General Surgery Residency at Michigan State University, Lansing. From there he pursued specialty training in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Stony Brook University Medical Center, Stony Brook.
Dr. Gohil has also completed training in Robotic Surgeries. He uses these techniques to perform complex surgical procedures. He lives with his family of four at West Caldwell, New Jersey and he is very happy to be part of and serve his community in regards to various General, Bariatric, Colorectal and Foregut Surgeries.

Lavinia Couture is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in bariatric, general and robotic surgery. Lavinia was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2015. She then completed her Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies from Hofstra University in 2017. Growing up, Lavinia participated in a variety of sports. Her athleticism motivated her to always follow a healthy and fit lifestyle. Her goal is to utilize her personal experiences to motivate her patients to achieve success using Bariatric surgery as a tool. Let's get healthy together!

Sharon completed her undergraduate education at Syracuse University earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics and worked in clinical nutrition for seven years. Sharon completed her Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Pace University - Lenox Hill Hospital Physician Assistant Program and started practicing bariatric and general surgery with Ballem Surgical in 2013. She specializes in Robotic Surgery and pharmacologic weight management. Sharon loves being involved in all aspects of patient care at all stages- before, during and after surgery. She joins New York Bariatric Group in 2020, serving primarily in the New Jersey offices.
