Prior to joining Nexleaf, he completed a BA at the University of Missouri, an MA at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, and a PhD at Indiana University. His dissertation, Evangelical Religiopolitical Identity, Ideological Realignment, and Social Welfare Attitudes in the Age of the Religious Right, used American National Election Studies data from 1960-2016 to explore the political impact of evangelical Protestant movement into the Republican Party beginning in the 1960s. Mariam has provided technical support to the Ministry of Health in the area of PMTCT, and served as an advisor in the area of Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health. Mariam has experience in undertaking a number of consultancies for local and International NGOs. Martin Lukac is a Founder and the Chief Technology Officer of Nexleaf Analytics. Martin holds a B.S. from Haverford College, and received his Ph.D. from UCLA for innovations in wireless seismic and acoustic sensing systems. He previously served as a Visiting Scientist at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). At Nexleaf, Martin leads all aspects of the technical design and architecture of Nexleaf's sensing systems and connected devices. He has personally deployed device prototypes across Southeast Asia, Africa, and beyond. His work has led to one patent and several more in the works. Martin's technical designs and innovations for Nexleaf have been recognized by several award competitions and publications, including Financial Times and Devex. ColdTrace was named first place winner as a tech for social good by the Museum of Innovation at the Tech Awards in 2015 and by Vodafone Wireless Innovation Project in 2013. StoveTrace won the 2016 Harnessing Data for Resilience Recognition Award, offered by USAID and FHI360, and was a finalist in the 2017 Global Mobile Awards. Martin's research experience includes building, deploying, maintaining, and evaluating embedded systems for seismic, structural, environmental, and public-health applications. As part of his graduate thesis work, he developed one of the first large scale wireless seismic networks and deployed and maintained the system in Peru and Mexico for over two years, spanning over 250 km. Over the course of his work at UCLA, he has worked closely with geophysicists, structural engineers, and ecologists. Martin has presented and published his work at numerous peer-reviewed conferences and journals in computer science and Earth science.

Nexleaf technology currently protects the vaccine supply for 1 in 10 babies born each year. Nithya and her team have achieved this outsized impact by working shoulder-to-shoulder with Ministries of Health - rather than attempting to bypass governments - to scale cutting-edge technologies refined through close collaboration with personnel at every level of the health system, from top-tier government officials to last-mile health care workers. A computer scientist specializing in sensor technologies and data analytics, Nithya is a tech-for-good pioneer and a leading thinker on global vaccine distribution. Nithya's career started in Silicon Valley, and continued as Research Faculty in sensor technologies at UCLA. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley. Her work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. He works in country with a global team to ensure that Malawi government has access to the data they need to effectively and equitably deliver potent vaccines to Malawians. Patience brings along to Nexleaf his long-term working relationship with the Government of Malawi and development stakeholders to make sure that discussions between policymakers, supply chain experts, and, health workers in Malawi are driven by data. Prior to joining Nexleaf, Patience worked with both local and international health and communication organizations in Malawi in various capacities for over ten years. In these roles, Patience's track record in designing health and communication advocacy initiatives, demand generation, and health - social behavior change communication strategies and models contributed to the success of multi-billion dollar projects. Patience has worked in projects that are funded by multi-national donor agencies like USAID, DFID, OSISA, KFW, UNESCO, Nike Foundation among others where he designed and implemented game-changing human-centered designs and demand generation strategies that provided a continuum in the project life span while saving lives. In these projects, Patience worked with M & E teams to create data for action strategies to achieve project indicators and maximize results. Prior to joining Nexleaf, Tom spent over ten years at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in the Biological Sciences Group with a specific focus on virus genome sequencing work. There, he was proud to help lead the development of in-country workshops in conjunction with the NIH Fogarty International Center to teach local scientists to process and interpret DNA sequencing results themselves across 18 different countries, primarily in Asia and Africa. Tom has a Masters of Science in Bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins University and a BS from Duke University. He loves processing large datasets to find interesting stories to tell, as well as helping others explore complex data on their own.
