Orkydaceae is different from ordinary environmental consultancies because our reports, Orkyds, focus less on how to manage the impacts society places on the environment and more on how to align local practices with local ecological processes... Orkydaceae focuses on how populations of people interrelate with their local ecology. To connect sustainable development to the ecology of localities, Orkydaceae flips-the-script and makes localities primary. Our approach is not "top-down" nor "bottom-up" but horizontal, from locality to locality. Our purpose is to elaborate sustainability so that the dialogues on sustainability become a dialogue on how stewardship of local ecology entwines with the identity of a localities' locals...
