I 'm from Barcelona, where the Mediterranean Sea, meets the North East of Spain. It is known that I come from a country where the food is diverse, healthy & simply delicious. My mother was always cooking for her family of six, we would have dinner at 9 pm , it was always chef quality. To some extent I think all chefs are inspired by their mothers cooking, I was my mother's sous chef, especially when it came to PAELLA...
Her Paella was the best, seriously, dangerously delicious. My family immigrated to Canada in the mid 70's. My father & Uncle opened the first Spanish restaurant in Manitoba in 1978; they called it "Los EspaƱoles". Most of us eventually returned to Barcelona, where I remained for twenty-six years; until coming back to Canada in 2015...
