David Entwistle

David Entwistle is president and CEO of Stanford Health Care (SHC). He joined SHC in July 2016 with extensive executive experience at leading academic medical centers. Entwistle is a passionate advocate of precision health - tailoring a treatment to a patient's specific disease or condition as well as focusing on prevention to empower patients to take charge of their health before they become ill. Before joining SHC, he served for nine years as CEO of the University of Utah Hospital & Clinics (UUHC), the only academic medical center in the Intermountain West region. While serving at UUHC, Entwistle received the Modern Healthcare "Up and Comers Award," for significant contributions in health care administration, management or policy. He previously served as senior vice president and chief operating officer at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wis., from 2002-2007; and as vice president of professional services and joint venture operations at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, Calif. As a recognized health care thought leader, Entwistle serves on the boards of the American Hospital Association, the AAMC Council of Teaching Hospitals, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and Vizient. Dilip Jose

Dr Atul Mohan Kochhar

He obtained his MBBS and MD (Dermatology) from the prestigious Delhi University. Dr B.K. Rana

Dr B.K. Rana is the CEO of Quality & Accreditation Institute (QAI) and former Director & CEO-In-charge of NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers), Quality Council of India. He has many honours to his credit, including appointment as President of the Asian Society for Quality in Healthcare (ASQua), member of the Technical Committee of Ayurveda Training Accreditation Board, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and International Consultant and Expert for the WHO, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, USAID, ISQua and UNFCCC. He is also the Founding Member of the International Academy of Quality & Safety (IAQS), Scientific Advisory Board, and the International Alliance of Patients' Organisations (IAPO). He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Diploma in German and a Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Health Management. He has steered the development of numerous accreditation standards globally and is credited for establishing India's healthcare accreditation system with international benchmarks through leading NABH and QAI standards.

Dr. Abhijat Sheth

Dr. Abhijat Sheth has post-graduation in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Sheth KM School of Postgraduate Medicine and Research, Ahmedabad. He extensively worked as an academician at various medical colleges in Ahmedabad. In 1998, he went to UK for further training in Cardiothoracic Surgery where he worked as a Senior House Officer and Registrar in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. He obtained his FRCS in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow in 2000. Since 2001 his main place of work has been in the Cardiothoracic Department of St George's Hospital NHS Trust in London where he has worked with the eminent cardiothoracic consultant Professor Brendan P Madden. Dr. Sheth has a long and distinguished career in adult Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Research and academia initially in India and then extensively in the UK. He published more than 20 peer reviewed publications in prestigious journals e.g. Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 40 abstract presentations and 40 conference presentations at the British Thoracic Society, World Congress of Bronchology, European Respiratory Society and American Thoracic Society. His major research and publications are in the fields of large airway intervention and Sildenafil therapy for patients with pulmonary hypertension. In his 10 years of academic career at St. George's Hospital, he has successfully guided a number of specialist registrars in developing competency with endobronchial intervention, pulmonary artery catheterisation and management of patients with secondary pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Sheth has undertaken his MD (Research) degree from London University under supervision of Professor Brendan P Madden and MBA (Health Executive) from Keele University, Manchester.

Dr. Alan Dubovsky

Alan Dubovsky is the Vice President and Chief Patient Experience Officer for Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles, California. In his role, Alan is responsible for the facilitation of all patient experience strategy and operations improvements in the inpatient, ambulatory, emergency, and ancillary areas for the health system. Alan is also responsible for Interpretation Services, providing language interpretation and translation needs to all medical center patients. In addition, Alan is responsible for Patient Advocacy, the department tasked with managing complaints and grievances. Alan joined Cedars-Sinai in November, 2016, with 15 years focused on healthcare patient experience improvement. Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, Alan was with Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia, serving as the Director of Operations. In that role, Alan was responsible for patient experience and physician engagement, international health, and leadership and talent development. Alan completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Georgia and his Executive Master in Business Administration at Emory University.

Dr. Arati Verma

She has over 3 decades of experience in various clinical and administrative positions that include the Indian Army, Private Sector Healthcare in India and a Strategic Health Authority in NHS, UK as Assistant Director of Quality. In her current assignment, Dr Arati Verma is heading medical quality and patient safety across the Max Healthcare network of 14 Hospitals with over 2500 beds. The medical quality departments overall objectives are to support the establishment of the highest standards of Medical Excellence and Clinical Outcomes by the constituent Max hospitals and clinical departments. This includes accreditation, protocols, clinical indicators, patient safety programs, clinical dashboards, training and audits. Dr Verma has a deep interest and passion for Healthcare Quality and Safety, and has acquired national and international experience and expertise. She is co-chairperson of the Technical Committee of the National Accreditation Board for Healthcare Organizations (NABH), India.a

Dr. Carsten Engel

Carsten Engel, joined the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) as CEO 1st May 2021. He has 18 years of experience in Quality Improvement, preceded by 19 years of clinical frontline service and clinical management. From 2006-2021 he worked with IKAS, Danish Institute for Quality and Accreditation in Health Care, since 2010 as Deputy Chief Executive. Here he was a leading member of the team that developed and implemented the Danish Healthcare Quality Programme, a series of accreditation projects that have performed over 6000 accreditations, reaching all providers in almost all sectors of Danish healthcare. Carsten obtained a M.Sc. in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Copenhagen 1977 and graduated as a physician 1984; he holds specialist recognition as an anaesthesiologist.

Dr. Dana Safran

Dr. Safran is an internationally recognized healthcare executive with a unique blend of accomplishment in business and academia. A central feature of her work has been combining the science of quality measurement with the art of its use to drive significant change in the quality, outcomes, and affordability of care. Dr. Safran's prior roles include serving for more than a decade as a senior executive at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA), where she was a lead architect of the BCBSMA Alternative Quality Contract (AQC), which is widely credited with having catalyzed the value-based payment movement among public and private payers nationally. She was also a founding member of the executive team at Haven, a joint venture of Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and JPMorgan Chase to achieve better health outcomes, care experiences, and costs of care through innovation in care delivery, benefit design and purchasing. Dr. Safran is on the faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine and has held a broad range of advisory roles in the public sector and internationally supporting efforts to improve health and healthcare through effective uses of performance measurement. From 2017-2023, she served as a Commissioner of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC). She holds a BA in Biology and Government from Wesleyan University and completed her post-graduate studies at the Harvard School of Public Health to earn an ScM and ScD in Health Policy and Management.

Dr. Jitendra Singh

Dr Jitendra Singh, has taken over as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology as the Ministries were included under the charge of Office of the Prime Minister. He is a physician known for his work on diabetes and endocrinology. He has been a professor, a consultant, clinical practitioner, author of eight books, and a newspaper columnist as also the ex-chairman for the National Scientific Committee Diabetes and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India. With an M.B.B.S. degree from Stanley Medical College, Chennai and M.D. from Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr Singh has authored several books including Monograms on Diabetes and World Book Fair best seller, "Diabetes Made Easy". He is also the author of chapters on diabetes in text books for Post Graduate Course (Medicine) and runs a syndicated weekly column "Tales of Travesty", popularly read and regularly published for three decades. He is Minister of State for Prime Minister's Office; Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space.

Dr. K. Hari Prasad

Dr.Prasad joined the Apollo Group of Hospitals and contributed to the launch of the first ever dedicated accident & emergency hospital in the country at Hyderabad. Dr. Prasad is the first individual outside Europe to be honored with the Fellowship of College of Emergency Medicine, UK and the first individual in India to be honored with a fellowship by the International Federation for Emergency Medicine. Dr.Prasad was elected as the Best Leader across Apollo Group of Hospitals in the year 2012. Prof. Anupam Sibal

Prof. Anupam Sibal joined Apollo Hospital, New Delhi as a Senior Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in 1997. He established a pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, nutrition and endoscopy service at the Apollo Centre for Advanced Pediatric's, the wing dedicated to pediatrics at the Apollo Hospital Delhi in 1997. He helped set up the first successful liver transplant program in India in 1998. In 2012, 1200 solid organ transplants in children and adults (840 kidney and 360 liver) were performed. The Apollo Transplant Program thus became the first transplant program in the world to perform more than 1000 transplants in a year and Apollo Delhi the busiest transplant centre in the world by performing 813 transplants (269 liver, 544 kidney). In 2013, Apollo Delhi performed (283 liver, 669 kidney) and the Apollo transplant program performed (388 liver, 1053 kidney). Overall more than 1674 liver transplants have been performed till date. In June 2005, he helped achieve the First International Accreditation of a hospital in India by Joint Commission International (JCI). Prof. Sibal served as the only Asian JCI Physician Surveyor from January 2008 to 2010. He currently is a member of the Regional Middle East International Advisory Board of JCI. Prof. Sibal was appointed as the Group Medical Director of the Apollo Hospitals Group in 2005. Prof. Sibal was appointed as an Adjunct Professor of Paediatrics, School of Medicine, University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia in June 2009. In October 2009, he was appointed as the member of the Institute Body of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, (PGIMER) Chandigarh. Prof Sibal is on the Editorial Board of 3 Journals and has 85 publications. He has served on the Executive Council of the International Paediatric Transplant Association, The Asian Pan-Pacific Association of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the Commonwealth Association of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and has lectured extensively in India and abroad.
