AT HOMESTEAD

Through the Rainbow Room, HCCP works to bring hope to many children who have been dealt an uncertain and unfortunate hand in life. The Rainbow Room is an emergency resource center available to CPS caseworkers to help them meet the critical needs of abused and neglected children. Located within the county' s Family Protective Services building in Athens, the Rainbow Room is a brightly decorated and inviting room stocked with all new items such as school supplies, clothing, shoes, diapers, toys, car seats, beds, bedding, personal hygiene items and whatever a child might need entering foster or relative care. In the case that CPS is trying to stabilize an existing family so that the child might remain in their care, we also provide the family, as determined by caseworkers, food, bedding and household cleaning items so that children can remain safe in their homes while CPS works with the family.
