Ta Koo Ta Poh School (Unity School) was set up for all Burmese/Karen children from any background whether it be Buddhist, Christian or Animist. It is situated in the village of Blah Toh in the Karen state of Burma. The school is about 2 hours south of Myawaddy on the Burmese side and about 30 minutes from the Thai town of Umphang. Prior to the school opening there was no access to education for the children at Blah Toh village. The school was opened in 2012 and has continued to grow over the last years...
Andrew met Big when they both worked on the Special Education Project for World Education in the border town of MaeSot. They formed a special friendship based on their desire to give all children in the Karen State of Burma the opportunity to access an education.
