The glint of reflected light from cut stones doesn't catch our eye in the noon day sun quite like it does in a dimly lit ballroom. This is the fine line of genius, SMR artists attempt to walk in our studios. Work that is too degenerate, too trashy, too base, or just ugly for the sake of being ugly; and work that is too pollyanna, too soft, toothless and possessed of a conspicuously contrived bliss, are both equally off putting to the discerning observer. Shadow Mined Recordings chronicle works that illustrate this idea in an undeniable way. We strive to release work that threads a razor fine line between extremes, cutting through the mountains of inauthenticity present in today's musical landscape, on the way toward something tangible and real, with no contrivances, no gimmicks... Minimal, Deep Minimal, Electronica and Techno with a focus on authenticity, sound design, groove and depth.
