Garry Schenher

Garry was part of the team that established the SIIFC and has worked in Indigenous economic development for more than 17 years. He has traveled Saskatchewan extensively and has worked throughout the province, including as a planning and performance measurement consultant in financial services and in retail bank management. Born in Humboldt and raised in Melfort, Garry continued his education in Saskatoon. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance) and Master of Business Administration (International Business) from the University of Saskatchewan. He enjoys traveling, fishing, playing golf and spending time with family. Garry lives in Regina with his wife and two children.

Matt Smith - CEO

As a proud citizen of the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan and Executive Director of the Government of Saskatchewan's Indigenous Economic Development Branch, Matt brings an extensive background of Indigenous engagement and collaboration to his role as CEO. Matt is responsible for the overall leadership of the SIIFC and serves as the primary liaison between project proponents and the SIIFC Board of Directors. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Matt helped lead the team of Government of Saskatchewan officials responsible for the establishment of the SIIFC. Born and raised in Regina, Matt moved away from the province in 1999, returning in 2012 to take a position with the Government of Saskatchewan's International Relations Branch.
