We study fundamental principles that regulate phenotypic, metabolic, and morphogenetic processes in early embryonic patterning; and, the causal mechanisms when these dynamic processes go awry. By combining studies involving the mouse and human embryos, and their in vitro 3D stem cell models, our laboratory investigates the molecular landscape that directs differentiation and developmental programming in health and disease.
