SWE MADE

SweMade was inspired by a deep appreciation for Swedish glass, particularly the exquisite hand-painted glassworks by Ulrica Hydman-Vallien from Kosta Boda. This fascination began with a personal discovery of the beautiful and nearly obsessive allure of Kosta Boda's creations. This interest deepened into a passion for the handcrafted, mouth-blown glassworks from the Kingdom of Glass, an area in the Swedish province of Småland renowned for its glass factories such as Kosta, Boda, and Orrefors. This region evokes cherished childhood memories of growing up in Sweden, hearing tales of the Kosta Boda Glass factory, a memorable visit with grandparents in the 80s, and the frequent presence of this distinguished glassware in premium sections of household stores, in the homes of relatives, and as esteemed gifts at weddings, graduations, and anniversaries... The influence of Kosta Boda and the broader glassworks from the Swedish Kingdom of Glass, "Glasriket," has been a constant companion..
