We are excited to announce Ukwakhwa obtained 501(c)(3) status as a nonprofit organization. We can now accept donations and apply for grants that will help us further our goals of sharing the knowledge we gather. Funds will help offset our costs of running our farmstead, maintaining our new farmstead kitchen, bringing in artisans and chefs to teach us, and adding a layer of local food security. We have a few projects on the horizon including upgraded kitchen equipment such as a large freezer, steam kettle, food dehydrators, and environmentally sustainable food containers. We also hope to undertake the construction of a large pavilion to host events... In the spring of 2017, Oneida Nation citizens Steve and Becky Webster purchased 10 acres of land on the Oneida Reservation. The following year, with the help of friends and family, they built a home. They currently grow traditional, heirloom foods with an emphasis on Haudenosaunee varieties of corn, beans, and squash. Their long term goal..
