Walnut Grove (also known as the Morgan-Skinner-Boyd Homestead) is on both the National and Indiana State Historical Registries. Built near Me-Gwun's Village, and one of the first European settlements in Lake County, the Italianate brick home is believed to have been completed in 1877 by the Morgan family. Located on the old Lincoln Highway, Walnut Grove has been a staple of Northwest Indiana for well over a century. The site continues to attract curious onlookers, captivated by its Victorian architecture, the ethereal presence of ancestors voices, and the majestic walnut trees that shade the beloved property.
